Unhappy 87 pickup truck problem

I have a 1987 nissan pickup truck with z-24 motor and 5 speed trans. The truck started cuttion out on acceleration at approx 2800 rpms. This does this in all gears. Will run till his 2800 rpms then starts cutting out. Replaced the distributor but no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Could this be a possible ecu.??

hey i'm having the same problems on my 720 pickup (check out my page) although it's a carburated Z24. i read somewhere that it's the O2 sensors that needs to be replaced. it turns out that it can't be the carburator cuz i had mechs look at it. :bandit:

I have an 87 pathfinder that was falling flat at 2700 rpm, the problem was a broken wire that goes to the the throtle plate injector. There are two injectors located at top of the throtle plate and if one is not working this will cause what you discribe.

Re: 87 pickup truck problem

your coils maybe bad what you can do is remove the coil wire most of the time its the left side that is bad remove the wire while the engine is running if it is the good one the engine will die in most cases check both but one at a time
