Question What Color would you choose?

Well, since I have been nicely informed, that my car just so happens to have 1 of the 2 colors that like to peel off the car like a rotten banana, I was wondering, if you had the money to do it, what color would you prefer to repaint your neon, metal flake? solid? chameleon? This info will go towards helping me choose what to make it look like, so everyone please respond. thank you. :jumpie::jumpie::jumpie:

If I had a chance to do a color change on my car I would go for the steel gray metallic or steel blue metallic BMW uses. I have seen a few Neons done the same color as the nice blue on the new Dodge Ram trucks, looks

Now that I think of it, I saw an srt-4 in that metallic steel gray color, and it was the bomb. If I had the cask, I d go for that color, but I ll just work on keeping my black paint job in tip top shape.

An SRT-4 in metallic steel grey... someone has some serious cash.

Have you seen the "Electric Blue" they are putting on the PT Turbo? MMm... Yummy. The best blue since that Civic Si blue. Anyway, that "Electric Blue" is replacing "Solar Yellow" on the SRT-4. Check it out. I bet it'll look sweet on a G1 Neon, too.

"flylwsi" The "neon green" you're thinking of is called Nitro-Acid, Yellow-Green, Nitro Yellow-Green, or most commonly, NYG. It's a great color, and rare, having only been offered in '95. Yellow looks great on a G1 Neon, but it attracts cops. No bueno!

I like any paint-type, whether it's solid, metallic, color-shift, as long as it's done well. There's nothing worse than a crappy paint job. Above all else, do to a reputable shop and PAY for a good job. Otherwise, it doesn't really matter what you put on the car. Also remember that changing colors is expensive if you do it correctly (paint the door jambs, trunk lid, hood, etc...).

That's why I am just gonna stick with my emerald green if I get an opportunity to repaint it. Fortunately for a 6 year old car, the outside color hasn't faded too badly, almost matches what's in the jambs. My mouldings are quite dull though I think once they start looking too crappy I'll just pull them off.

Re: What Color would you choose?

So many great colours, and everyones right, it's expensive. I heard that a good solid color will out last any metallic as far as flaking and fading are concerned. Would be nice to hear from a auto painter.

It's true. As I understand it, metallics get a double shot of the sun's rays when the flakes in the paint reflect the light back out.
