Tamiya Pearl White

Hi

Would like to know if Pearl White is any good ? I plan to use White primer before and Pearl White as color.. this is for a Bomex RX-7.

Is the paint tick, any tips I should know ?

Also, if you have any pic of the color I would like to see the end result.

If you have any sugestion for this car on color, I don't really know what I want I just want a light color becose of the decals

White pearl on white paint or primer may look too bland. Try test spraying pearl on black. The amount of white pearl layer you add will change the result, and pearl powder stands out on dark color very well.

I painted my RSX with white primer then pearl white, turned out pretty good.

I painted my Cizeta Moroder with Tamiya's Pearl white and it dries to a semi gloss sheen requiring a good gloss coat to be added. Coverage was decent going over white primer.

I didn't like it though. The paint alone wouldn't take a polish. I ended up stripping it and using automotive paint.

I pearl white transparent? I thought about spraying it over some blue decals once they were on the car to give them a metallic look. I'm not so sure it's THAT transparent though.

Hmmm It's been about a year since I used it so I can't comment on its transparency. I thought I had some left on my bench, but it's gone . . . so I can't even try it out for ya. Sorry . . .

I used on my Skyline GT-R N1. the color is quite transparent. you have to spray pure white first then add pearl white. which sometime make it too thick.
