Anyone know of any aftermarket sets for Lamborghini Diablos ?

Preferably etched sets. If there are none specifally for Diablos are there any that can be used with them. I am using them on the Revell Snaptite Diablo VT.

Thanks

None are available specifically for the Diablo. However, have a look HERE and scroll down to the photoetched scans I posted a while back.

You can use a few scripts, bulls, shift gate, seat belt hardware and front nose badges from the second scan.

HAPICO is still showing stock on their website . . . Give 'em a try! They're very nice to deal with.

Here's a list of larger scale kits. There's also a few available in 1/43rd scale.

Fujimi Diablo - The best body body (IMO), so-so accurate interior, and simple engine insert that is not very detailed. Very easy to build and detail if you take your time. Fujimi offers a couple variations base on the same molds.

Italeri Diablo VT - modified reissue of their old Diablo kit. Fair detail. so-so accurate body. Wheels and tires are junk.

Revell Diablo VT Snap-tite - OOP but, should be easy to find. Excellent detail for a snap kit! Includes engine. realistic wheels (the best IMO), tires are better replaced with fujimi rubber. Accurate body and interior. Very underrated because it's a snap kit.

Revell Diablo Roadster - snap-tite - fairly good detail for a snap. Accurate body and wheels, simplified interior, no engine. If you can overlook its simplicity, this is a very accurate model of the roaster. The only one available in fact. You will have to source out new decals though, as the stickers for all badges are junk.

Revell AG Diablo VT - same kit as Italeri's Diablo. You would think this would be their re-boxed snap kit, but it's the old Italeri kit with new headlight buckets and clear covers.

Thanks for the help. Those PE parts are gonna be tricky to find

I've got the Revell VT Snaptite and have just ordered the Fujimi version and am planning on combining the two kits. I am also going to convert it into the SE30.

Anyone got any Hires pics of the real engine? That would be great.

Thanks

Farrokh

Yeah, the photoetched parts are hard to find. again, the only place I was able to find them is Hapico.

As for pics, LamboCars.com SE-30 has some decent shots of the engine. Revell's kit is very close to the SE-30's engine. You can also look HERE for some great pics.

Nice choice is subject matter! I started an SE-30 conversion a while back, but it got put on hold due to other projects I had going. FYI, a good source for misc. parts is the Maisto SE-30 diecast. Also, Here's a nice conversion you may be able to get some tips from

Good luck and keep us updated on your progress here in Lamborghini Meet.

Chuck

*EDIT* Shout out to Hirofkd on his excellent conversion.

Called me?

FYI, none of the VT kit captured the real VT, because they missed the larger front brake cooling intakes, deeper side intakes and lower instrument gauge cluster. Those aren't so hard to correct.
That said, Fujimi is still the best kit, followed by Revell snap kit. Combining Revell snap kit and Fujimi, you can make a fully detailed Diablo with opening doors.

As for PE parts, there isn't any for Diablo, but Yorozuya (same company that made other lambo pe parts) made the Jota P01 conversion kit, which includes PE parts. Motoi-san of Hapico might be able to help.

LOL. Where do you think I got the idea from?

I even emailed him to get as much info as I could and he was very helpful.

Do you think it matters WHICH Fujimi one I get? Or should I defnitely get the VT?

Thanks

Come to think of it, Fujimi is going to release a limited production Diablo with PE parts in September. I guess this is the one, you should get? All Fujimi Diablo kits are the same, except the Koenig version.

LOL! looks like you've nailed your inspiration there! He did an awesome job on the conversion!

As far as which kit to get. The fujimi diablo's are pretty much all the same with the exception of added rear wings and plastic color. So, have your pick.

I'm going to check in the AM to see if the Revell roadster side skirts will fit the Revell VT. This may save you some time with scratch building them.

That looks to be the same VT boxart from before.Or do you think that is just tempory because the boxart has not been released?

Thanks
