yes .... people who want a really bouncy and uneven ride ... just get some lowering springs, it still will ride kinda shitty but its better than cutting the springs.

Who needs springs. What I did was just take out my spring. The shock will hold the suspension together. The car looks slammed as fawk now yo! FO SHO!

i cut my springs at first to lower my car. I will never do it again and not recommend it to anyone. the ride was horrible and i bottomed out my shock constantly. It would never stop bouncing. I would recommend just buying a cheap set of drop springs off ebay or saving your money for a good set.

Why not just cut your throat? It's safer and a damn sight quicker than driving a car that is downright dangerous At least by taking the former route you only endanger yourself

Sorry, It's a bad thing to do, it unbalances the ride. Looks cool but is fucking dangerous

I had a friend hit by a car that had chopped springs - driver lost control of it driving over a bumpy road - with cut springs. DOA yet the driver of the car walked away. I guess that's why I have no time for people doing stupid and dangerous things that directly affect the control of a ton of steel without thinking through the consequences.

I agree, Myfirst4G - it is harsh

I guess you missed the previous 10 posts???

The whole reason you have springs is to compensate for the ever changing weight transfer caused by accelerating, braking, turning, etc.... When you cut your springs, it totally eliminates any rebounding capabilities that the car had. In turn, the car has no control over body roll and really might as well have no steering wheel...

It is incredibly irresponsible and dangerous. I agree with Sentata on this one. Remember, all mods and fun aside, driving is a big responsibility.....not a right. A car can be more dangerous than a gun in the wrong hands.

ALright, first off, all springs have a set spring rate. for exmaple, if the spring rate is 300 lbs, then it will take 300 lbs to compress the spring one inch, 600 2 inhces, etc (300 was just an example number, by the way). Cutting your stock spring is very dangous. First off, its gonna f*ck up the spring rate, that spring rate is not that stiff of one (on a stock spring, and also by cutting it, you f*ck up the spring rate. This causes the spring to sit more compressed un-natually, when it isn't designed to do that. The spring rate is shot and useless, the spring is ruined. It can't do its job. It can't keep the car in control, can't keep your shocks in control, they bounce like a blown suspension. Whihc is esstenially what you did. By cutting your springs, you just blew your suspenison, all by yourself. This results in a very bounce car, which is VERY difficult to control on bump roads, surfaces, high speeds, etc. That not only puts you and your passengers in danger, but the other ppl on the road as well. If you wanna do something dumb and risk your own life, thats one thing, but cutting your springs is riskin other ppl's lives as well. Not a good thing. Do yourself and everyone else a favor, save up for some actual lowering springs, at the very least. Even a cheap crappy brand is better than cutting the spring. If you dont want a cheap crappy brand, stay stock till you can afford the kind you want.
