2006 chevy uplander theft lock control module

I want to add this to my 06 Pon. Montana. I carry tools and want at least something that honks the horn and will just plug-in.

What is involved in this?

Where does the module plug in?

Thanks for anyone's help.

Re: 2006 chevy uplander theft lock control module

Theft lock is a term used for the security system for the radio.....

There is the theft deterrant system, and content theft system.....I don't think you can pull modules out of other vehicles and install it in another, with this year.....there are VIN numbers involved and it may need to be programmed....

Re: 2006 chevy uplander theft lock control module

Humm, I was hoping that was the name of an add-on module that will give me a basic alarm on my Van without hacking into the wiring myself.. bummer.

Thank you for that help.

Do you know of a module I can buy that would?

Re: 2006 chevy uplander theft lock control module

Maybe GMtech1 can handle this one since I no longer have access to GM diagrams.....I think this is a BCM issue, and would involve programming by a GM shop....

Like BCM 1,2,3 or 4?

I read a post for a 2002 Pontiac Montana about that.

Re: 2006 chevy uplander theft lock control module

Did you not read this?

Will Fit: 2005-2006 Pontiac Montana

All of the parts we sell are guaranteed to be in good working condition unless otherwise noted. We ONLY guarantee the part(s) will fit the vehicle(s) listed in the description. If your vehicle was not originally equipped with the EXACT part(s) listed, it is your responsibility to consult a dealer to see if it will fit your application. We ONLY guarantee the part(s) will fit your vehicle if it was originally equipped with the part(s) on auction. Additional items may be needed if this is an upgrade or custom installation. Please consult your local dealer for ALL other applications.

You have no idea what that BCM is programmed for.....and like I said, this is from another vehicle and there may be VIN number compatability issues...

Re: 2006 chevy uplander theft lock control module

Man, this is both informative and frustrating.

All I want is to add a factory alarm.

Is there a way to do this? I can't say the dealer in this tiny Coastal town is particularly helpful....because they aren't.

so, any idea how to accomplish this?

OR...is it easier to just hack the wires and do my own...?
