96 F250 300/4.9 Inline 6 Manual Trans Power Adding

There isn't much info on putting a turbo on a 4.9 on the web. Most of the info I find for power adding to the 4.9 is help it breath and bigger injectors. So I've come to where I usually do to find my answers.

I'm thinking about adding a turbo from a 7.3 diesel, and 19lbs injectors (with aftermarket fuel pressure regulator) as well as custom headers for the turbo, a 3" dual exhaust, platinum plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, a boost controller and a programmer/power chip. I've read if I don't step on the gas too much this will actually help my MPGs as well as perk the Torque up. Which is what I want.

I picked the 7.3 turbo because the 7.3 redlines around 3500-4000 which is little lower than the 4.9. But all the business end for the 4.9 is around 1800-3000.

These are my main questions, How much power will this set up add (estimate)? What are the downfalls? Any issues that I need to watch out for? Is there a better cost effective turbo for the job? Any other ways to add a lot of power in the 1800-3000 rpm range?

My Real question is, How much boost can the stock pistons, rods, crank, etc handle before running the risk (I mean the slightest risk) of bending or breaking something?

Ultimately (not with JUST these mods) I would like to achieve the same HP/Torque as the new 6.7 Ford which If I remember has like 535 HP and 800ft/lbs torque solid across the 2000-3000 rpm band. Any input is welcome.
