Cat converter

Hello and thanks in advance for any advice. I have a 1998 Blazer 4wd. The cat converter has been rattling badly for months and I finally got around to replacing it. (good deal for magnaflow direct fit from lansingonestopauto cost me $133 and that included shipping) My question is can I get money for recycling the old cat converter? What should I realistically expect to get for it? Or do I just put it in the trash?

Find a local scrap metal salvage yard that buys them.
Take it with you when you go and.
Have them weight and look at it and.
They will tell you what they will pay for it.
Depending on weight and type of cat they bring from 5-10 up to 150 $ or more USA dollars.
Let us know how it ges or what they pay for it.
