Honda RA 273 - 1/12 Tamiya
Hi, I am building this Tamiya model I bought on Ebay at 50€ (incl shipping)
![]() I'll built the #11 at the 1967 South African Grand Prix driven by John Surtees (3rd overall) ![]() I dry assembled the body and it fits fine ![]() I want to paint the body when it is assembled, so I had to previously paint the interior in black and to mask it ![]() ![]() ![]() Braking liquid tanks ![]() Front dampers and steering bar ![]() I painted engine and transmission and dry-brushed with Tamiya x-11 ![]() ![]() That's all for now! Comments and criticisms are welcome!

Hi capri, I saw your thread of the Honda and I noticed you added rivets on the body near the front suspensions... But I looked for them in pictures from the real car and I couldn't see them!
Are you sure they were visible in the real car? Do you have any reference?

Re: Honda RA 273 - 1/12 Tamiya
Oh,you mean the whole body rivets.
I decieded to change all of the rivets, that in the kit are only little nipples. I have done it wrong, because on the real car they are all sunk-in.Mine are on top. But they still look better than the original ones. When the body is colored, the rivets still there and not under the layers of color. Maybee its not original, but in my mind it looks good. Christian |

Re: Honda RA 273 - 1/12 Tamiya
nice strat on the honda...it's not a bad kit but very simple and needs some extra parts to look great.
I built mine some time ago and maybe you will take a look at it. I also added a build report, maybe that can help you a bit http://www.f1m.com/forum/viewtopic.p...0&hilit=ra+273 keep us posted daniel -germany- |

Re: Honda RA 273 - 1/12 Tamiya
it was the original release...well at least it was the release before the Photoetch release.
The rivet were quiet large..around 1mm . If you plan to redo the rivets maybe go for some smaller ones daniel |

Re: Honda RA 273 - 1/12 Tamiya
I bought 0.7mm rivets from ebay, but I'm not satisfied since they are made out of plastic, so I still have to paint them...
I'd rather use metal ones but I can't find them!
