This is the Fiat 131 by Esci of the Fiat 131 sponsored by Esci! Found this on eBay reasonably and although the decals looked mint they broke apart when I tried to put them on. I lost a few decals in the process on the roof and a couple of the side panel ones are a touch ropey but after using some decal saver most were saved succesfully.
I have to say that working with an old kit like this is a far cry from the Tamiya models I always build. This is in fact only the 2nd time I can recall where I have completed a non Tamiya kit. Fit for the most part was ok, but I can not get the hood to sit completely flush at all. It's a good kit in general though, looking at my other Esci models in my build pile it looks like the others will be a lot worse.
I am not really happy with the way this one turned out, I rushed it here or there (front lights for example

) and should have spent much more time on the details. I got frustrated with it and should have put it aside but I didn't

I found it was missing a couple engine bay pieces so it is a bit spartan, but I did add some basic wiring and I added seatbelts inside but otherwise it is box stock. I am happy to have it in my collection as it is an unusual subject, but I sincerely hope my next model is better...
