I've already made the sugestion of separate car categories for the comp. and have equaly Distributed prizes:

-Box Stock
-Extended Conversion
-Road Race (JGTC, ALMS, F1, and so forth....)
-Rally

This is how it should be to separate the comp. and entries.

That's a very good idea, I'm with that idea. That way, it won't be so hard to decide between the very best cars.

BOX STOCK= different decals can be used, slight mods, very little.
EXTENDED CONVERSION= Fly-on-the-wall style
ROAD RACE= JGTC cars/ any road going race cars/ shopping carts
RALLY= uhh.. Rally

I like the idea of the different parts of the competition. Then, maybe the prizes can be split up more evenly. I'll be entering the 'Box Stock' or 'Extended Conversion' categories, but I'm not sure yet. Maybe a kit can go to the Box Stock winner, and a kit and the customizing supplies to the Extended Conversion winner, a race kit to the Road Race Winner, and the Focus to the Rally winner. Thats quite a few prizes to come up with, but I think it would be better like that.

Ok here's the Official Rules that can be subject to change.

1. 13-18 yrs of age for entry. Word will be taken.
2. Can enter only one model....pre-built or Current build.
3. 2 pics of car....1 overview and 1 collage containing many pics of anything about the car.
4. Pic Deadline is TBA because we will not start until everyone is 100% agreed on the rules.

There will be 4 categories of Cars to enter.

1. Box Stock-Slight mods, different decals alowed.
2. Extended Conversion- Speaks for itself, this is what most of your heavy tuners go under. Things like custom body kits, extensive detail and so forth.
3. Race-Any road based car, ALMS, JGTC, F1, NASCAR, INDY. MUST be a race orenented car.
4. Rally-Self explanitory

All models are to be 1:24/1:25 scale. Voting will be kept anonymous to insure that there is no favortisim. Votes will be PM'd to PMan to keep a final count. The thread w/the Models will be a sticky.
Voters must be registered at least a week prior to voting to insure nobody is making bogus accounts to vote for themselves.

Submiting a model.
Submiting a car will be done by PM'ing me w/the 2 Pics of the model. Be sure to include what category you are entering and a brief description of the car including any build mods and notes.

The contest will start once everybody is 100% agreed on the rules. Make any comments or sugestions on this thread. If everyone agrees, the contest will start tommorow.

Thats what keeps me coming back, Only one of my friends shows a little intrest in cars, the rest make fun, so this is the only place where I can talk about what I like most, Cheers! :smoker:

Yeah. Only one of my friends know much anything about cars. All the others only know the TF&TF shit. They wouldn't know what "drifting" was if a car that was doing it sideswiped them. They couldn't tell me what JDM meant, and the only acronym they know is "NOS". I bring up a kick-ass JDM car site (aka www.jdmautoparts.com/itr ) and they're like "oh man, that car sucks, it needs some 24's and neons."

So that means that any thing to do with putty jobs are in the #2 cat. right?
What does slight mods include?
So what about things like custom exhaust, intercoolers etc??

what about changing your normal truck into a flatbed?!?!?!:D

With what I am doing with my skyline (engine, opening doors...ect), would that be extended conversion?

this sucks. my sister went into my room yesterday and smashed up 3-4 of my models before i caught her. i didnt take anypics of the flatbed either!:mad: im super pissed at her right now:angryfire :eshooter: at least she knew what was good for her and left my Corvette Mako Shark alone. spent a long time painting that thing ads carefully as i could. turned out just like i wanted it to too. looks just like the car:D wait, could i enter with the shark instead of the truck? i didnt do anything to it. its bone stock right out of the box.

Forhod: i dont think the truck is. the cab is cracked right down the middle but some of the other ones id have no chance of winning this with (bad paint job)

K-dog: i was planning on entering my truck, but since the recnt event had to happen now, i have to rely on that car to win. and i really dont have the $$$ to buy a new model because i spent it all on modelexpress.com lastnight.

Grandprix, you could strip it, then use some gap filling super glue to put it back together, then sand it smooth, prime, and repaint.

i thought about that, but i dont think it'll be done before this contest is up.

Count me out.. Since it's my B-day and I'm turning 19 I'm to old...

ya. i made a big mistake with seting up a 19 yearold contest and i got bitched at for that one cause i didnt know they allowed 19 year olds in it. lol.

I agree with the rules, just one question, i have no clue how to make a collage.....???

to make a collage, just use some photoediting software to get a bunch of pics in the size of one.

If i start tonight....which looks like I will...the entry deadline is July 31st..so you have plenty of time to come up w/a kit and submit it at any time before that date....

the july31 sounds good and also the rules although i donno if im in or not Integra. just let me know and ill get started on my project man;)

BTW: before I forget....I was talking w/some members, and I was thinking of setting it up like the winner of each category makes a final four models and from there on it's elimination to see who the Final Winner is....for the grand prize.

Does that sound confusing??? Because I brought it up w/a couple of members and they liked the idea.

I kind of like that idea, but I think that you should still win at least something for the individual bracket, then move on and compete for a final prize with the winners of the other brackets. Ex. Win a smaller prize for the individual bracket----->move on---->win bigger prize. The reason for this would be that more people on AF prefer the show car, hot import type vehicle and that might put the race and rally cars at a serious disadvantage in a final, so they should at least receive something for winning their bracket. But then again that's alot of prizes to be just giving out for one contest. I don't know, let me know what you think.

yeah the idea is good !!! i like it if you win something for the individual bracket and a big price for the best car of the contest (vote between the 4 cars) !!!!

fwdfreak, I would think that having a diecast would give you an unfair advantage, but that's just me.

I agree with the smaller prizes for the individual categories, then the winners in the categories going on to compete for a final grand prize. To make things fair for those finalists though, it would be a good idea to have them all build one type of car. It's hard to vote for a rally car or extended modified car, considering they are both trying to build completely different things.

I don't see any advantages, you cant modify the body and the body details are like shit
