Im doing the gasket repair and I was changing the fuel injector o-rings and noticed that the metal washer under the rubber o-ring is missing and one is cracked. is this a dealer item or can I get this at an auto store or do I have to replace the whole injector?

Im done changing my LIM & S/C gaskets, but as I was about to change my injector o-rings, I noticed the metal washers missing. The metal one under the rubber o-ring. Im missing one and another is only 3/4 left.
Can I get this part somewhere or do I have to buy two new injectors?

Unfortunatly if its what I'm thinking of, your probably going to have to get an injector.

You mean the little tips on the end of the injectors?
Did you take a look into the heads to make sure they arent broke off inside there?
I hate to say it, but I'm pretty sure your going to have to replace the injectors.

No it wont come out the bottom.
I'd be afraid that it fell inside the cylinder head, then if you try running it, it could hold the valve open, and worst case scenario piston dig the valve....
I dont know. I would feel inside the cylinder head with a small screwdriver.
from the pic, it looks like you're going to need a couple new injectors.... But lets see what Bob and Rich say.

I believe that price is for the 6. Believe it or not 250.00 for 6 is a darn good price for injectors. Last time I had to replace one in a cadillac, a single injector was 100 bucks.
If it fell in, it would be sitting on top of the piston just waiting for you to turn your key and mess things up.
I don't know man, You've stumped me. I dont know what I would do.

You need to change the oil because of all the leftover gasket material, dirt, and crud you wiped off before you installed the new gaskets.
It is recommended to change the oil and filter again after 500-1000 miles once the job is done.
I dont know what to tell you about the injector seats.

If there was any coolant contamination in the engine due to bad intake gaskets then I would run some Seafoam engine treatment through it into the crankcase and then drain the oil and add a new filter.
The reason why our GTP fuel injectors are expensive is because they are rated at 33# (lbs) of flow, actually 36# but 33# advertised.
In comparison for the NA SII 3800 engine injectors are rated at around 21.5# flow.

As far as the injectors go, can I buy some used ones for the time being?

It sucks seeing my car in the garage waiting to be put back together.
and I guess the next question will be, how to remove the injectors?
and another thing I didnt do before removing the fuel rail, was that I didnt release the pressure, from it. Is this ok?
I believe I have to drain the fuel , before I remove & install the new ones correct?

You will be fine, you dont need to drain all the fuel, but if you havn't disconnected the rail from the lines, you will have to release fuel pressure at the schrader valve.
The just pull the clips off from the top of the injectors, twist slightly, and pull. The injectors should just pop right out.

Good Job! Glad we could help!
See? I told you with our help you could accomplish anything! Not to mention if you brought this car to a shop it would have costed around 1000 bucks. Look at all the moolah you saved and not to mention when you fix things yourself, you seem to have a better sence of satisfaction in knowing you did it.
The stock temp t-stat is 195, so if it was running at 210, I would be worried. Below 210 seems normal. Heck, mine runs at 180 all the time. Even in stop and go traffic, it will peak at 195, but quickly drop back down to 180 when the fans kick on.
Good Job again, and let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

Most leaks from the end seal gaskets would be oil. What brand RTV sealant did you use? Is the oil seeping from a corner or under the main part of the end seal gasket.

How long did you let the RTV cure used at the 4 corners before starting the engine up? It requires at least 24 hours. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you might have to redo it. This time try the FelPro brand LIM gaskets. I never trusted the GM revised ones.

so I went to autozone and bought myself an o-ring kit, and found one that was snug for that piece. and it worked.
This piece sits piece sits on top of the supercharger wich has three ports, and I know the big hose goes by the master cylinder.
All im hoping for it now, is to not leak!
Wish me luck.
