i don't know if i believe that or not...

I thought the same thing. Maybe Subey are quitting WRC

"Our source suggests we won't see the 3.0-litre turbo powering a Subaru until the next Impreza model change, due in 2007"

Seems like you'll have to wait a while for that 3.0 :p

I hate replying to posts that get that right after the starting post:mad:

From what I have heard, the WRX/STI will be offered in more than one engine configuration in order to comply with the WRC regulations and requirements, the likely configurations are 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 engines.
I have only heard this though via the Scooby-vine so I am not certain how much it hold true.....

Personally, I am more than happy with my 2.5RS right now, considering that is produces similar HP to what the SA government have got them restricted to in South Africa......or at least did when I left SA.

Give me the cash and I will come to your house! I live in London because I was born here, and I am glad to be so, because we got the R34 and Evo 6, among other cars you people were neglected from having. :D :) ;)

People these days, they ask some illogical questions

Ok so you get a better STi, but well just read that link (lol) and it is true because the source is a very reliable UK car mag, AND it has been posted on so many boards - NASIOC, EvolutionM.Net, etc...

I am worried about the transmission for this STi. Subaru say they are investigating some options, and the best is the Getrag, as the R34 had a 6 speed Getrag which was so reliable, even with countless 7000rpm launches when the car is tuned to 750hp. However, isn't it a worry that, this transmission coming from your USDM STi can't cope with an extra 50hp? And isn't torque the big transmission breaker?

Anyone able to give info on the gearbox issue? Thats the only problem at the moment...

Evomaniac
03-28-2003, 07:35 PM
gearbox issue...

yeah on the old one(2002-2003) wrx, wait we are in the year 2003 how can that be old:D anyway's it only apply's to that one, just read the new turbo magazine with a wrx in the cover, repeat, THE NEW ISSUE okay, and you'll find some good useful info in there if you own a wrx, I never knew the tranny had four part's only-weird, but you don't have to worry about it if you plan on purchasing the new 2004 U.S. sti which is equipped with a strond, durable, and rough tranny capable of withstanding a bulldozer and which has close gear ratios very nice or if you own a older(2002-2003) sti which has the same bullet-proof tranny with the close gera ratios.
