Vanishing posts in certain threads made July 12th

Just a quick FYI - the forum hardware/software has had some issues and there are at least three threads in here that were affected by them yesterday. Essentially, about 10-15 posts that were made across these threads have up and vanished:

The Goodwood Festival Of Speed 2008 Thread (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=902691)

Ueno Clinic Car. (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=912414)

McLaren F1 GTR Driving Ambition De Luxe Edition (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=692195)

The AF.com Mgmt are working to resolve the problem and even restore the missing posts hopefully.

I just didn't want anyone in here to think they had been sabotaged like I did. :uhoh: :grinno:

Thanks for the info Erik,

Just posted up the reply and pic of the other three seater, that was at Goodwood. Also I loaded up some of my 12R pics, only to see them all disappear :banghead:

Just one of lifes hiccups I guess. :frown:

Sorry to hear that. Maybe give them a day or two to sort the issue and see if we get them back. :dunno:

In addition to what you recall from the Goodwood thread, we also lost a reply from the new user, Mr Rick, again on his visit to the MTC. I had replied to him with some photos of XP5 and XP1LM since he wasn't allowed the privilege of his own and that is gone as well. I hope he sees this notice and doesn't think his post was removed for any reason. :uhoh:

I had also added a reply to the thread about the Ueno Clinic car with some photos for Murray in relation to my previous answers, and that too is lost.

I'll be able to recreate them for the most part if I have to, but it's a bit disruptive to say the least.

Okay - it seems official now from a discussion in the moderators forum that anything that was lost when the DB was corrupted, and then restored from a back up will not be returning. :crying:

If you recall certain posts that you made that have gone missing and it makes sense to do so, then feel free to include them again.

There are still some lingering MySQL errors that I have been getting along with some others, but those seem to relate to the email notifications that go out for folks who are subscribed to certain threads and request Instant Email Notification. The same is true of PMs - but even if you get that error your message has likely gone through without a problem. In both cases you can go back after receiving the error and refresh the page (or your Sent Items in the case of a PM) and you should see that what you intended to occur actually did. Hopefully they can get those issues sorted out quickly as it is a bit of an annoyance.

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience!

All the DB issues should be resolved now. I have done some testing and the errors I was getting are now gone. If anyone else experiences a problem, go ahead and post it here and I will report it.

I figure I'll leave this thread up for just a few days longer and then bin it if nothing else emerges.

Some of the other moderators are reporting that the SQL errors we were seeing before are reoccurring now. I don't believe we're losing any posts because of it, but if you do get an error please know that they are being investigated once more.

Hi Erik,

If you weren't aware already, 3 threads are corrupt at the moment

Original delivered to?
Unchanged F1's
Mclaren - The Cars 1964-2008

They all end up with the following info page
"
Warning: mysql_query(): Unable to save result set in includes/class_core.php on line 405

There seems to have been a problem with the Automotive Forums .com Car Chat database.
Please try again by clicking the Refresh button in your web browser.

An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, whom you can also contact if the problem persists.

We apologise for any inconvenience."

Yeah - that error is occurring all over the message forum at the moment. Seems to relate to a time period when posts were made in them. If the thread has multiple pages, you can usually click on the original page, then hit reply to see the newest posts. I know that is working on two of the three you point out.

Very frustrating though - I hope they get it fixed soon.

It's not just your connection. The notifications haven't worked correctly for a week now, and I couldn't even access the site Tuesday night for several hours. I've noticed whatever issues are out there occurring seem to "come and go", and can crop up anytime, then it seems to be all right, and then for some unknown reason it occurs again. :dunno: Everybody, including members, Moderators, and administrators are experiencing these issues, and admin. is working on attempts to fix them.

Thanks for the reply.

Even the quotes are not working now!!

Its just a case of everybody being patient and with the efforts of those people sorting out the problems, hopefully this issue will finally vanish.

Cheers Erik - I'm still not getting notification of PM's / new posts to threads I've subscribed to?....:screwy:

You know - I am not getting the PM notifications either - perhaps they have turned that feature off temporarily to help with the issues. I'll mention that again in the Mod forum thread and see what they say.

I was receiving notifications of PMs up until 2 days ago, but I haven't received any PMs since then, so it's hard to say if it is working or not.
