it has all the names chosen by Tokyo pop but that doesn't bother me.
Anyone played it

i got a 125000 point Nissan Silvia S15 Spec R purple flip option B with Volk TE37 rims

its soooooo cool but i can't beat bunta he's too fast

yeah the name change is annoying but that wont detour me from playing the game. i got an FC RX-7, i dont remember how many points i got but i know i still suck. im stuck at Keisuke, came really close to beating him but would always mess up on the high speed sharp turns and hit the wall. im thinking about choosing a different car maybe an ITR or some 4WD, any suggestion.

Version 1 or 2?
I know that the S15 in the game is very hard to control.. argh.
I am currently using a FD Spirit R with only 85k points.. Because the game over here is expensive..
1 game is SG$1.50 or SG$2.. with means.. US$0.85 or US$1.15
I don't have much money since I am a student and not working.

In Version 2, each car has it own advantages and disadvantages.
In my country, there are many FD users.. don't know why though...
But now a trend is starting up that everyone try using Bunta's Car!~ The WRX. And you can get the WRX with some steps from the start of the game.

the lines arent too bad here, they just added another machine a few weeks ago. even then no one hogs the machine, win or loose you only play once then to the end of the line. i try to get to the machines during off-peak though, you know during school hours. its kinda scary during the peak times, there are like a bunch of kids setting up camp next to the machines. and yes this game will burn a hole in your wallet, i usually spend no more than $5 but i can easily plop out $20 and play for hours.

LoLz, so I guess Sega Rosso has earn quite an amount of money from us. :D
I guess wherever you are in the world playing Initial D arcade stage, the situation is the same. Kids gathering the machines hogging, bragging how good they are.. blahz.

I too try to play during off peak hours :) Just hate queues.

well im still using an AT but i noticed that people who use MT always jump to 3rd gear off the starting line. is it suppose to accelerate faster off the line, that doesnt make sense though. wouldnt it be ideal to redline every gear instead.

in the version one there is a rocket start that you can do which involves shifting to third of the line

i've tried and done it - it gives a massive boost. doesn't work in Version 2 tho

Yupz.
Though FD have a fast start if you rev to 4500 to start ( If I don't remember wrongly.. :D )
And also.. the rims does affect the performance for the car ;)

this guy showed up yesterday at the Bowlplex (where the arcade is situated and opposite my work) with a 1,500,000 point white RX7

I managed to get my Silvia S15 into some course records but i still can't beat bunta with it ..............its soooo slow

the guy with the RX7 didn't shift at the red line either he first went to like 4500 then 5000 then something else then redlined it to shift to fifth

ozstrider
03-21-2003, 03:28 AM
1500000 is nothing in ver. 2. I asw a guy with a 9 million point EVO 7. And damn he knew how to use it. He was really fast.
I wanted to get teh S15, but everyone advised me against it cos its just so slow. The only good 6 speed car is the Altezza followed by the GDB, which is wierd cos the GDB has a 6th going about 140 kms compared to the altezzas 170. People only use the GDB cos its got really good grip and fast accel in 3rd and 4th. So its really good for Iro.

as far as i know the EVO's dont get the misfiring system, and you need 60,000 points to get the car fully customized. after that comes the maintenance and dont bother wasting your points on the rims they do nothing.

The trueno's not the fastest car in the game, the FD is. The Trueno is a close second and about even on akina.

Also, the upgrades don't help all that much. A 465,000 point car is only about 4-5 seconds faster than a 0 points car. A 60,000 is about 2-3 seconds faster.

The main thing is to just drive well and don't hit the walls because that stops your acceleration. It's a very unrealistic game but for the arcade it's quite good. And as for bunta, just do time trials on akina DH at night. I've got my time down to about 3:08. You need just a second or two faster than that to beat Bunta.

still havent gotten ver. 2 over here yet, as for heel toe isnt it pointless if you can shift to neutral . and what do you mean by hard to control, is it fish tailing. if so countersteer very quickly and only for a split second, it should stabalize the car.

yeh i know it's weird but i kinda figured mah own style of doing the drifting.....i know theres no clutch...

it goes lyke this......eg:

the 1 hairpin in myogi:

ur go down nearly just about say an approx estimate distance lyke 5 0r 6 meters b4 the hairpin u in it at 5 gear then go down to 4 gear, lightly hit the brake with the heel of ur right foot and at the same time hit the acceleration with the toes or ur right foot as much as u can...if u cant seem to redline it....take it down to the next anutha gear, then b4 exiting the turn take it up a gear and countersteer at the exit of the turn...

yeh i know it's alot to do......but it's not to bad...i dont know why i'm giving mah self a hard time...i just lyke the whole drifting feel and i dont know how to drive but just been doing it

eh....

ok thanx for all da feedback

what youre doing is called "left foot braking" my son, its a very useful technique and very hard to learn in real life. most people are use to controling the speed with only their right foot, and when you throw the clutch in the mix it gets a little confusing.

as for me i dont really have time to practice much, like only once a week and i dont spend alot on the game either so my fastest time is only '3.11.xxx on my FC3S.

Version 2 was out pretty long ago. When you get Evo 3 as your car in Version 2, there is Misfiring System.. ;)

I have stopped playing as it really burns pocket!!

For Myogi, that corner can be usually cleared at 190- 200 ++.
Of course, you must know how to control.

Actually, does your car really drift when you play Initial D? IMO, it only drift at Myogi and Usui. The other tracks, they just turn but not drifting.

I've got a silver FD3s RX-7 with 35,000 points.. just ran 3'12'985 on Akina Downhill time attack but every time I race Tak he sideswipes me off the road on this one corner and I fall so far behind. I have another card with an R32 with about 90,000 but I can run faster with the RX-7 and still lose to him. I guess I've got to get some more money and keep trying. That game is so addicting, haha.

toyota_trueno_03

with takumi u have to actually get a fair distance away from him....the only reason why he catches up to u is that he probably comes close to the corners.... u can usually see him do it on the hairpins when ur just comming out of 1 in ur rear view mirror....try it.....it healps just alittle to come close to the turns/corners stuff.

since u've got the FD3S u've got major turbo....if u've scene the cartoon of INITIAL D 2nd Stage....on chapter 11 or 12.....it shows the levin turbo 86 he joggs the steering wheel from left to right to gain back turbo from turbo lag when comming out of the turns...and gainning speeds on the straights.

uuuummmmm......pretty much every1 knows that turbo cars come out slower out of the hairpins than a natural aspiration (NA) car which is takumi's car.

the main thing pretty much in akina is too keep up ur speed wit tha turbo and just comming pretty close of the hairpins.

it takes awhile tryna perfect the commnig close on the hairpins (took me a bout 15 tries) untill i could perfect it

ok good luck

NSX-R-SSJ20K
06-28-2003, 06:26 AM
you're wrong

you practise something called Anti Lag

there's a system and a way of driving

You hit the accelerator before you exit the turn so when you exit the turn you're on full boost.
