i agree they look good, u can get kits 2 make em look just like a ferrari too :D but i've heard rumours that the engines like 2 catch fire and that there not too reliable so thats a down side, if u can get the engine rebuilt and running amazingly u might not have a problem with it but they do look really good :)

actually its not fiberglass. i personally like how there is no room i think thats sporty (i would only use it for a toy). why is the motor shitty? i have heard that the v6 is very unreliable, but i have heard pretty good things about the 4 banger. also i test drove the car and the torque was awesome. it for sure had more pep than a CRX SI. keep the opinions flowing!!!!!!!

yea, i heard the same thing on them catching fire, other than that, i know nothing about them, other than you can get a kit to make them look just like a ferrari

Personally I would go for a WRX .. cause its turboed, has some off roading capabilities, and is more of a practical car for me.

STI WRX would be better. 300 hp and 300 ft/lb of torque

what did ya do? break torques or somethin? lol
or just use the E-brake, put it in Neutral and Pop into Drive? lol prolly screw ur tranny like that haha

civic1784
03-30-2003, 03:28 PM
Or just hold the gas and brake down at the same time, and when you are just about to hit the stall speed, let off the brake -- then your taking off at higher RPMs, so you're all good. Unfortunately, it heats up the A/T fluid, and leads to decreased fluid life.

if ur car has an e-brake u can use that too in drive and just mash the gas ;) hehe or rev it with normal brakes with the e-brake so when u take off the normal brake the back wheels r still locked hehe ;)

Thanks man, I found out about angwin about 1 1/2 years ago and go there or annadale in santa rosa most of the time. Dont go to skyline a whole lot because of the huge climb and most of the people I ride with hate it, but next time im not with them, I might go to skyline again.

Actually No Its Not. Since You Dont Know The Mileage, Then Lets Assume YOu Plan On Taking Advantage Of The Engine Being Out Of The Car, And DO A Half Ass Over Haul (rings, bearings, water pump, oil pump, clutch, gaskets). i dont know if you have ever taken out an engine before, but its cake. why dont you overhaul it for an extra lets say 3-4 hundred, then put it in yourself for free. thats about 800 bucks, and the engine will be fresh and ready for another 200,000 miles. also taking out the engine, and rebuilding it is a learning experience, thats well worth the time and money. JUST A THOUGHT!!

1990civic
04-01-2003, 09:42 AM
also just to let you know the real expensive part of an overhaul, is the machine work (head, fly wheel, block, etc.) so if those are all in good shape just replace the list above. but if it does need machine work it might be best to just drive the thing till it cant drive no more. unfortunately i rebiult my 1.5l engine, just for a learing experience, hoping to spend no more than 500 , but that 500 turned into 1500, mostly because of the machine work.

let's put it like this....i know jack about taking uot an engine since i don't have any tools really......but i could just get the engine and do some work like u suggested....then put it back it.....i smell a learning experience brewing :help:

yea exactly i mean you can read all the books in the world about honda engines, but untill you dig into one you really dont know anything. i mean you have to start some where.

I prefer to get greasy and then look @ the book when I get confused of am unsure. I am however verry mechanicaly inclined, some people dont have that gift and would have to read the entire helms manual before taking off the valve cover (No joke, I know people like this)

Stali08
04-01-2003, 02:36 PM
see, i am very impatient when it comes to my car, so if i know i have the tools, the time, and the right parts, ill go ahead with it. And sometimes I think I know what im doing, but I actually dont have a clue in the world.
