RPO Codes

The RPO (Regular Production Order) codes are located on your spare tire cover, driver’s side door, glove box, trunk lid or under the center console on most GM cars. Usually, the Buick codes are on the spare tire cover, or trunk lid. The pic below, is an example of the SPID/RPO code sticker from my car. The codes shown below have been decoded in the description list here (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=668017). If you do not see a code for your options, you can post them here, or PM me with the codes. I will try to decode them and PM them back to you. I will also add any codes submitted here to the master list. Please include the year and model of your Buick!

I've used this website in the past to help me determine RPO codes on GM vehicles and it's pretty thorough: http://www.angelfire.com/ny2/96transam/rpocodes.html

Just about everything you find on the web concerning GM RPO codes leaves alot to be desired. I can see a bunch of late model GM RPO codes missing especially engine and autotransaxle right off the top of my head.

L36 - Normally aspirated SII 3800 V6 engine
MN3 - 4T65E 4 speed autotransaxle
M15 - 4T65E 4 speed autotransaxle
MN7 - 4T65E-HD 4 speed autotransaxle
LG8 - SFI 3100 V6 engine (used in '99-'05 Century)

On '97 and up Buick Regal/Century the SPID label is located on the back of the trunk lid.

It looks like a lot codes are missing from angelfire.com (http://www.angelfire.com/ny2/96transam/rpocodes.html) site!
Like bob said, most of what you find on the internet is limited to a certain group of cars or makes within the GM family, and do not include all makes and models.:disappoin

I bet you don’t recall that the L36 code, was also an engine code used by Chevrolet, mostly in the Corvette in the late 60’s! I also checked the ones Bob listed, and found all of them. GM has over 23,000 codes in the master list!:screwy:

Actually the angelfire site I have used in the past is one of hundreds if not thousands of sites on the web that have the codes and locations of the SPID sticker for each vehicle. Out of the 18 or so GM vehicles I have owned in the last 23 years, only one so far is post model year 2000, so that site I have bookmarked has pretty much met my needs. The internet is so dynamic that once a new model year is introduced, that information about the codes almost instantaneously becomes available to one who knows how to use the web to access that info.(Google "GM RPO codes and see how many sites come up, last check was nearly 5100:eek: )If you can't find all the information you need on one site chances are great you can find it on another. Like I've said in past posts, I wish the internet was around 20 years ago as it is a great reference tool and could've saved me a lot of time, money and legwork to get the info I needed then.

Here is what I found about the codes with the "??" If they look OK, you can edit your own post with these. One thing I have found out, it is hard to distinguish between 1 & I and C & G on the codes. You might want to double check those! Other than that, the items look OK. The “COMPUTER SEL SUSP” items are for the springs selected to go with your suspension option (F41 & G69). You have a very rare and excellent suspension package for a PA anyway! It might ride firm, but I bet it handles well!:smokin:
The CCR or (AEC) would be option; FX3….RIDE AND HANDLING, AUTOMATIC ELECTRONIC CONTROLLED AAA!

The items below are what you have for the suspension system and the springs were computer selected & matched for these options.:grinyes:

For HVAC climate control systems RPO code add C67 which is the an electronic climate control control applicable to LeSabre and '96 and under PA.

I think it is a platinum beige metallic (this was a new color in 99 according to the MSN Auto site...there was a sandstone beige metallic in 98). The code 88a seems to match the Accent Stripe (Dk Briar Brown). It has a pretty good tint on the rear windows and back window. I did not find a code for that.

EDIT...I was just going back and found the link that bnaylor posted. My upper is 179a so that probably references to a beige somewhere. And...just FE1 for me...would have been nice to find the Y56 (and now I know about RPO codes...Thanks!).
