Hey, I see an R34, the chassis of an ITR, and I think I see an ITR body.

What is that next to the ITR body on the left. please tell me.

here is my desk in the garage its a mess at the moment as ive got 5 projects going
and building one more for a customer. as you can see my comp is next to it and my steering wheel for some nascar smashing. you can also see the tail of my r/c plane.just a few hoobies i have. so much to do so little time. Most of my 450-500 kits are hidden under beds and in wardrobes
which i'm always in trouble for.

I was just wondering u guys with like 600+ kits just sitting around waiting do u all like go to the store and just buy like 10 kits at a time bring them home and let them sit there? and over the years it gets like that? You all must be impulse buyers, you all have like an investment there if u ever run out of money just sell kits. damn, if I had all those they would be all open and i would just thumb threw the parts, u all have great self disicipline. Do u buy them casue u might not be able to get them ever again? casue I also noticed most of the people with alot of unbuilt kits there like all race cars/rally and whatever. so they probly dont make as many molds. is this one reason why?

Bingo. A lot of kits may go OOP for quite a long time, or maybe go out of print because licensing contracts have run out, etc. so it's best to snap them up while you can.

Daggerlee speaks the truth!!! I just stocked up on a bunch of Musclecars because they were $5 and $6 apiece:D I bought a total of 13 different kits because the regular prices were like $11.99 and $12.99. Get them while you can because there's no guarantee you'll see it again anytime soon! Better safe than sorry!!:bandit:

It's a booth offered by Micro-Mark. I bought it a little more than a year ago, and it's been a good investment. Painting in the house is just too dangerous without one, and here in Wisconsin, I HAVE to paint inside most of the year!

The booth is a "downdraft" model -- the fumes are drawn through a filter in the floor of the booth. They exit the booth through a flexible aluminum tube (the kind used for clothes dryers). I vent the booth through a window -- I built a plywood "plug" that fits in the opened window, and the vent runs through that. I can set it up or tear it down in a couple of minutes, and the plug keeps the fumes (or the cold outside air) from coming back into the room.

I'm probably not explaining things very well. I'll shoot some pictures in the next couple of days to show you what I'm talking about.

Matt

Maybe this will help my explanation:

http://images2.fotki.com/v17/photos/4/43099/144780/paintbooth-vi.jpg

That's blue masking tape around the edge of the plug. (It's winter in Wisconsin, and every little bit helps). I may add some self-adhesive weather strip at some point.

The booth is lit with a self-contained fluorescent light I picked up at a home improvement store. You can see it along the top panel of the booth, which is clear plexiglass, although it's difficult to tell from this angle.

And I've been building Chuck Yeager's Bell X-1, which explains all the orange paint!

I've really only seriously gotten back into Modeling within the past few months and I own already 10 kits. It should be 9 but I messed up the windshields on one so I had to buy the kit over again... And I have none completely built :( but 2 are very close lol. Yes I'm an impulse buyer but I have stopped since I want the money for my 1:1 car lol.

I will have a pic in 2 weeks when I get back to college after break when I have my supplies up here. You guys are gonna love my whole "work area"

Mike, Nice Calender, and Lego Enzo? Cool.

Here is mine, I work on the kitchen table, and spray in the garage. I'm not really set up for model building, live in a three bed house and no room for a table to set up correctly. LOL.

TBH, I set up on the table as I thought I'd build a few, perhaps get bored and give up. Over a year now on the kitchen table, and still mullering kits. I hope one day to buy a compressor, and I'm eyeing up another section of the kitchen table, soon it will be mine...

It is a tad cramped, reason I think I tend to drop so much stuff and damage like I do.

Time for me to show where I do my building, just started this up agian recently. So I'm not so well organisted.
Just an old workbench where I do all the cluing and brush painting etc.

Photo:
http://www.stianweb.com/dev/modelbiler/DSCF1833.JPG

I hope to get it more organisted in time.

When I started I just used spray canes, this was done in this box, on my porch. I live on the 3th floor.

http://www.stianweb.com/dev/modelbiler/DSCF1827.JPG

Then I got an airbrush and upgraded to this home made box, with no fans or anything. I had plans for it but never got on to it.

http://www.stianweb.com/dev/modelbiler/Lakkeringsboks/DSCF2359.JPG
It is made of spoon plates ( I think thats what it is called)

But I soon found out I needed something better, beside the winter and the cold is coming up, I need to go inside to my hobby room / home office.
So I started the search for something to use, I soon got on to the idea about using a kitchen ventilator, this one normal also got light in it. I asked some around and dad said that I could take the one in their secon kitchen. Since it was old and never being used, no they dont live in a big big house, just that they have a second floor where mygrand parents used to live. Anyway.

So i did build a box for it and made it ready for indoor use.

The box with hole for the flap where I gone put on a long tube, going out my window.
http://www.stianweb.com/dev/modelbiler/Lakkeringsboks/DSCF2356.JPG

The ventilator:
http://www.stianweb.com/dev/modelbiler/Lakkeringsboks/DSCF2357.JPG

http://www.stianweb.com/dev/modelbiler/Lakkeringsboks/DSCF2358.JPG

Done:

http://www.stianweb.com/dev/modelbiler/Lakkeringsboks/DSCF2361.JPG

http://www.stianweb.com/dev/modelbiler/Lakkeringsboks/DSCF2362.JPG

I also added two screws on the side to hang my AB on.

Next is to build a bench to put it on, with a shelf or two to put my spray cans and etc on.

I hope you like it and dont find it to boring to have a look into my modeling world.

I would love to see more of how you do it.

EDIT: I did some resizeing ;)

Well a week into this hobby now and i have dedicated a work station to it :D I took a old computer desk i had kicking in the shed and installed a small light, picked up a few little storage containers to hold my paints and supplies and i think it looks pretty decent!.

That's a great start and looks cozy! Now, when you have about 5 to 6 builds laying around and paint and parts all over I want to see a picture! LOL

I guess I'll share what I have.

Here's my table & shelves. Just moved it into this corner & put the shelves up a few weeks ago, and I love it so much better than where it was before. It used to be in front of the window thats beside the desk now. I was constantly loosing stuff off the backside of the table. Not a problem anymore. And I love the storage space above. I have a 36" double bulb fluorescent fixture for light. Also have a round bulb fluorescent magnifying lamp that I can use, if I need some magnification.

And then these are the builds that I completed in 2007. Got 12 Nascar models built in 2007. 2007 was when I really started getting organized and hardcore back into my modeling.

And last but not least, my stash.
