To the best of my knowledge 11R has not been sold, is still with the joint owners and that I am still the only interested party, but you never know things can change quickly with these things.

What was the asking price again? Any idea how much 23R sold for? I think the asking price was at 980k Euros til they removed the price.

Sorry I am not at liberty to disclose the asking price of 11R, confidentiality between owner and buyer and all that but it was considerably more than 980,000 euros.

Hey, contunuing the thing about insurance costs, one reason why Frank got very cheap insurance is because his car is registered as a Show car, which mean he can only do 2500miles on it each year. If you can have your car registered as a show car too, I bet your costs would dive. Good Luck!!!

No, mileage is only one (small) factor. Where you live, cost of car, amount of coverage, total value of other cars and other assets being insured, and driving record and experience of insured drivers all account for a much bigger portion of your insurance premium.

F1 Monster is exactly right, I had several quotes and they wanted to know the minutest detail from basic car details to cars condition service record, Where it will be kept, security arrangements, they will want to visit the garage before actually insuring the vehicle, and a photographic record of the car. Your past driving experience including a list of previously owned cars and any advanced driver training taken.
So not like insuring your standard road hack. It was in interesting process in it's own right getting the quotations.
As for insuring as a show car that would drive me mad not being able to drive it. Ap;arently I could insure it in Sweden for only about 1/3 the cost in the UK.

To expand a little on the list that Sauc3 provided:
06R - wears UK reg plate "P440 CPJ" - claims and photos of a conversion to "full SVA compliant spec" made by the STW-harnesses (http://www.stw-harnesses.co.uk/index_007.htm) website.
07R - formerly wore UK reg plate "16 LK" and also spotted wearing "4 EB". Previous ads have suggested this car has been converted for road use.
10R - wears UK reg plate "K40 MCL". Solid claims of a road conversion done by McLaren.
11R - wore Swedish reg plate "UAX 806" in 2004. No solid info on conversion status.
12R - spotted several times wearing UK reg plate "N753 HRV" in the late '90s and early on in this decade as well. Has had at least two owners since then. No solid info on conversion status.
13R - spotted recently in the UK on the road wearing an "N??? ???" reg plate. Was also seen in a short video at Buntingthorpe wearing a UK style reg plate that read "M1 GTR". Unclear on any conversion work having been completed.
15R - the Papaya-colored GTR believed by myself and others to be #15R has been seen wearing UK reg plate "M66 MCL". Unsure on any conversion work, but it seems likely.
16R - wore UK reg plate "N1 GPR" and "N276 JBK" while in the hands of Ray Bellm. Earlier for sale ads claimed it to be 1 of 4 GTRs converted for road use by McLaren. Now wears "M700 BHP" UK reg plate.
Two additions to his list - neither confirmed really:
08R - a papaya-colored GTR believed to be this chassis has been photographed in Bahrain. No license plates were seen in the photos though.
27R - spotted at 2005 Goodwood FOS wearing UK reg plate "CIA 4" which may have been a fake. A claim that the car was "now equipped to road specification" was made on the plaque displayed with the car.

carbuilder - I have a friend in Germany with a direct connection to someone at KS-Autohandel. If you'd like to send me a PM with your contact info I can certainly pass it along to them through him. I can't guarantee it will produce better results than what you have gotten so far, but I will be glad to make any effort to help. I don't charge for my services either. ;)

I can confirm 11R had a full road conversion carried out by McLaren cars during 2003 including removal of the roll cage. From what I have seen it is an almost identical conversion to 16R.
Wonder when 16R was converted as the interior detailing is virtually identical from what I can see.
Would be interesting if both cars were done at around the same time.

Regarding 027R, the plate CIA 4 is a fake and the car was not street legal at the time of Goodwood but Cars International were planning to make it street legal. If everything went to plan, it should be street legal by now.

If you register it as a show car, you are limited to 2500 miles a year.

Well an update on my lack of progress?
As far as I am aware (not been informed otherwise) 11R is still with the same owners and am sure it is fstill or sale at the right price.
Yes still have hopes of getting hold of 11R or another GTR if not as soon as I can offload my company.
Have had a few interests but nothing concrete yet.
But I live in hope.

when were these taken?
When I was there about 3 years ago they had the CLK-GTR, Dauer, XJ220, 911 GT1, F50, EB110, F1 green one (053?), Fina GTR #23R, 11R. It was awesome! And I could get in the showroom sneakily then cause left open a door, lol
I also trapped an alarm so I had to take quick pics. Those pics have bene posted by me long ago...

As you had some business to do with them in the past...
Thanks in advance!

Sorry for the VERY late reply to your question! Iīm not on this forum that often...
To answer, if the car is sold and exported, it would say that itīs not registered anymore and it would also say that it was exported.

Iīm still a bit puzzled since the car is still registered in Sweden as of today. Why wouldnīt it be deregistered if it was sold?

Sorry to pumb up this old thread, but does anyone have a good clear picture of 11R's rear with all the ads/decals visible during the Le Mans 1996 race? Any good pictures of the rear section are appreciated. :)
I'd like to complete my 1/43 hand built GTR collection of the LM'96 cars and as I'm trying to get all the necessary pieces for it I would need that info of the rear to get my "Franck Muller #53" as accurate as possible. Some of the model/kit manufacturers have the "Franck Muller Watch" ad on the rear grille (e.g. UT, Minichamps, Renaissance) and some not (Provence Moulage). In the videos it seems to be without it (resolution too low to say it for sure) and only Gulf (Ueno Clinic) and Bigazzi (FINA) cars clearly show having an ad on the rear grille. UT and Minichamps had at least that rear grille wrong on the 03R West/ArtSports #30 as the Ueno Clinic ads were on the engine cover, not on the rear grille.

Thanks guys for at least trying to help; I haven't lost the hope that someone has such a picture in their archives. It might be also in a picture focused on some other car but still could reveal those details I need in the background, as has been the case couple of times earlier. If someone has the Le Mans 1996 annual there could be such a picture. Would be quite weird if such a photo wouldn't exist as there have been such photos of more exotic cars of lesser known races than Le Mans to get the puzzle completed for a 1/43 model. But at least this has become a good challenge. :)
In GT Endurance 1996 book there's a good picture (p.110) to reveal how the rear of 11R was in Suzuka 1000km, the next race after Le Mans it took part. Then it didn't have any Franck Muller ads on its rear (grille) but neither did the Gulf cars have the Ueno Clinic ads on their rear grille, but instead on the doors. 11R had then also an orange Kenwood ad on the back of its rear wing (was this also there during LM?). Otherwise it had in the rear the normal Michelin ads and the series sponsoring LeasePlan ads. Otherwise it was much in similar look and decoration as in LM'96 but had the added AIM Thailand ads above the headlights and of course the LM/BPR numbering etc. differences. So these detail give some guidance but aren't the whole truth.

Here,s a couple of non race pics, just to confuse you. one rear grill with and one rear grill without the Frank Muller logo. Search french websites for LeMans 24hrs photo,s you may have some luck with race pics .

BIG THANK YOU Le Man!
I have tried to search such a pic now for about 8 months with no luck, using every possible words etc. but only came up with other pictures that don't show any of the rear or then; pictures from other scale models or toys. :(
So even that wasn't yet a race picture, it is more likely than not, that it had that Franck Muller ad on its rear grille also in the race. The rear wing was different in the race, as it was the lower drag LM version then. In the picture it is still the "normal" BPR version of early season '96, and used again in Suzuka.

I was just reorganizing my GTR archives and found a tiny picture of 11R during the BPR'96 Silverstone race weekend showing the Franck Muller Watch ad on its rear grille, just similar as in the Le Mans photo, so I'm 99% sure it was also there during the LM'96 race as normally the cars did not even have all the ads on those presentation and scrutineering pictures, and they often add up during the race weekend. So does anyone have a bigger version of this tiny picture?

Sadly I have to say it's no guarantee that Minichamps has it so; almost every Minichamps GTR has some clear errors, and maybe the "worst" are the LM'96 #30 (UenoClinic ad on rear grille and not on the engine cover) and JGTC'96 LARK #60 (engine cover center pink instead of metallic grey, and the incorrectly added roof scoop). Of all the short tails the most correct is the BPR'95 Monza winner Davidoff #8: it has no visible errors compared to the original, just lack of some details compared to newer models like cockpit and brake details.
But it always needs one to make the first one and then the others can try to come with a better one, and so it's better to have a model, even with some flaws, than no model at all. ;)
...and g** d*** it takes time and patience to make it all right and correctly! :crying:

Yep, that's what meant; 99,999% change is that it had the text even that it is in Minichamps model. They really have faults, I have notised those also, but I do believe that the text was there. :)
But until we see a picture taken from Le Mans 1996 #11R behind, then we no for sure.
And too bad, the In Car Sports Car DVD doesn't help this subject; #11R can be seen just seconds on the material in Silverstone's race.
