Nitrous + Supercharger...safe?

Hello, My question to all is: Is it safe to run a supercharger AND nitrous. I've seen some models of superchargers that get sprayed with nitrous to "cool" the air in the intake process. But that's different, it's actually sprayed on/inside the charger..i think. I don't know, what do you guys think?

Well my buddy is going to help me out with the whole upgrading the engine deal. I'm not exactly sure what we're getting but he told me he'll help me keep my car from "not f#!&ing up" so...that's good, lol. Not exactly sure what all it was, I know something about pulleys and like something else, he was like "if you have a leak in the blah blha blah you'll know it once you press that button, cuz you'll be able to see oil coming out your blah blah blah, something or other..yeah I should really pay attention to those details a little better huh?

yea if your gonna run boost i recommend you learn a little someone about cars before you go puttin a supercharger on and blowin your engine

On the note of the learning... would be a VERY good idea if you plan on doing anything mechanical to your car, much less a super charger. howstuffworks.com is a very interesting site though.

I call a big B.S. first off they didnt offer the ecotec for your year cavy, secondly there is only the 2.2 ecotec, 2.0 ecotec and now the 2.4 ecotec. they ever made a 2200 ecotec....

lol that my friend is no ecotec...far from it...that is a 2200 single port injected 2200 4 banger... clean but no ecotec

I know baby wasn't trying to be a dick, but I just wanna say one more thing about the engine thing okay. My friend has a 1.8 Jetta and i've seen it put away anythind and everything we've come across. all because of that little letter thats after the 1.8....the T....1.8T, T for Turbo. I'm not flaunting anything, i'm just saying. His engine is 0.4 liters smaller then mine, and (before i started modding) just blew me away. so...I don't really see how a difference of 0.2 would be much different. If correctly installed and kept up. Okay, that's then end of my arguement, that's all I wanted to say. thanks for the compliment on my painting tho, didn't even prime it! :).

honestly who cares about the 1.8t jetta they are slow and boring... the only thing they hav that even helps them is that turbo....get rid of it and you have a honda motor...hehe but you take the 1.8t jetta and you take a 2.2 ecotec turbo cavi....and the cavi will stomp the 1.8t jetta... ( oh and we aren't retards we know what the t in 1.8t stands for)

oh and for shits and giggles.. just to prove it, put a hahn racecraft stage 2 turbo kit with front mount intercooler, at 8 PSI. will run quarters around 12 secs. on a stock motor. its been proven. the 1.8t jetta stock runs quarters in low to mid 13-14..so do your research before you brag about somthing...

I raced them when i was still stock. I'm not saying that your car aint fast i just said that i dun think you should mod a 2.2 cause i juss think that moding a car that starts 40horses below a better model juss is kinda pointless. For instance, to mod a normal civic to me is pointless, but to mod an SI is smart. That's all im saying im juss saying that ur interior looks nice and that if you put money into more looks your car would be sick. i mean you can mod engine afterwards but i think you should trick out the beauty first. the problem with your headers is that you dont have them, you only have one, a header, and not modding it just cuz its the "base model" isnt a very good reason to not mod a car, the fact that its engine, the 2200, is worthless performance wise is a much better reason to not mod it

forget those two last posts if ur cardomain is up to date then i no wat u've modded engine wise and how an intake cut 4 seconds off ur 0-60 is beyond me and my car stock ran high 7's now i run 6.9-7.1 depending on my launch but anyway i can't believe that intake and a frickin MUFFLER TIP would shave off 4 seconds and im said to hear that a z24 lost to a 12.9 sec 0-60 car :(

speaking of topic at large. Have you ever heard of someone having an intercooler on a non-turbo car? Like say I bought a supercharger and wanted to cool the air before entering the engine. Do you think it would work like that, or would it just waste space?

^no need for a intercooler because Superchargers come with a charge air cooler (CAC) mounted next to the vehicle radiator. The charge air cooler cools the pressurized air from the supercharger, increasing the air density. this improves combustion efficiency, engine horsepower and torque. someone can correct me if im wrong.

is the hp gain different btwn the super and turbo?????

super- at 6-8 psi it will make about 80 whp
turbo- at 8psi it will produce 75-90 whp

so there is a little difference between the two. It also depends on what engine they are being put on.

the only reason why i dont like the sc cause what they told me at nopi.com was you have to make power to get power from a sc, but with a turbo its the turbo lag. So either way you look at it, there is an up and down for both.
