Yuck city. There should be a federal law mandating a cutoff age for breast feeding. Once a kid is too old to be referred to a a "baby" and their age is no longer counted in months, their lips should not touch a breast until they're at least 15

oh i must have forgotten to mention she was well over 200 pounds and not at all attractive. her kid didn't even want to breastfeed, he was seriously over 2 years old. yeah..:disappoin

LOL Anybody ever remember Jim Carrey in In Living Color, where they did the skit where Jim was a grown man, but was still attached to his ambilicle cord... which was still hooked to his mom.

She was like this over protective mom, and he was trying to pick up on some chick and she kept yanking the cord from like 15ft away and he'd scream.:lol:

It was great, then at the end it showed him back inside his moms womb...but it really was just him naked inside a trashbag... it was soooo wrong yet so hilarious.:rofl:

In Living Color was welll ahead of it's time.

I've heard of like, 8 year olds still being breastfed. That's gross...

Wasn't there a woman, like a flight attendant that put some kind of drug into a crying kid's apple juice because the kid wouldn't shut up? I think I remember hearing that on the news. I don't know what I'd do if it was my kid, but I'd be happy that the plane was quiet...

Breastfeeding...another one of the cons of children.

yeah i remember hearing about that. I thought she dropped some sleep-aid drug in there, like Ambien or something.

actually scientist say the children should be breast fed until AT LEAST 18 months old, and even into the time when they start eating solid foods. it's because there are important nutrients that you don't get from anywhere. studies have shown that children that are breast fed are generally healthier, have a lower risk of cancer, and are more intelligent. they are also less likely to get diseases and infections. it's cause of the nutrients and antibodies and crap you get in mothers milk that you don't get anywhere else.

in general people in north america aren't breast fed enough, some actually never taste their mothers milk, which is horrible because of all the benefits. the world health organisation has said people need to breast feed longer. one of the big problems is that in hospitals nurses are instructed to give free samples of formula to new mothers. this is so wrong concidering the obvious health benefits.

although i think mothers should have the decency to at least try to find a secluded environment because not everyone likes to see a woman breast feeding. but if there isn't anywhere to go then i think you do what you can with what you got. another solution would be to get a breast pump so that you can carry a bottle around for convenience but still give the goodness of mothers milk to your child.

Breast pump is definitely the answer.

you're right, but then there is always a cons side too..

many women don't breastfeed at all because of how hard it can be on your breasts. they stretch and sag from breastfeeding, and i'm sure you all know how attractive a saggy breast is..with all the pressure from the media these days to always be looking young hot and sexy, it's no wonder many women chose not to.

women these days are a part of the work force, and are gone at work. taking your children to daycare, even as an infant, is common. there is another reason why children aren't breastfed as much, because the mother simply isn't around.

breastfeeding until 18 months can be painful for the mother. once a child starts teething, breastfeeding can be a very painful experience as her child tests out his new set of chompers on her nipple.

and as said before, many women feel uncomfortable about breastfeeding in a public environement.

Beef, I always read your posts with a Mr. T voice in my head, cracks me up.

"Mothers should have the decency"? Come on... sure, not everyone likes to see breast feeding. Look away if it bothers you. Not everyone likes to see long hair, tattoos, piercings, certain kinds of clothes, etc etc either but you don't see any public outcry for those folks to take what they're doing somewhere else. The thing is, if the mother is breast feeding, she's likely the only source of food for the baby, and does it when the baby is hungry, not according to anyone's schedule or location preference.

I'm sure that most mothers would take it to a secluded place (and on the flip side I'm sure that there are mothers that flaunt it in public, too) if they could, but that's not always possible, especially since nursing can take 1/2 hour.

I'm not saying it's wrong, i'm just saying that they should put a bit of effort into it. if they don't have time or any place to do it, then it's fine. it's just that when you see a woman with her tit out and a baby hanging from it, especially if they're saggy and grose, then it's not the most appealing thing to see. but i understand if thats the only place they can do it.

edit: it's not the most appealing thing..... unless you're into that kind of stuff:uhoh:
