Oh yes, esp. the rear door was hell

But, decals done, I´m happy! Now I let it a few days and hope that the clear cote won´t eat them... wish me luck plase.

Thanks very much for your comments!

Small update, next one painted! The version 2006 decals are much more difficult to lay down, bc the sides are nearly one part over the whole side.

For you who wants to build this version, please take care when you paint the light lenses, these are very very fragile.

Hey! Thank you very much for your kind words, much appreciated! :D

Here comes an update! I think the most difficult task is done. Decal and clear cote work.

For the first time I used custom decals and I´m happy with the result. I was scared before, bc these are very thin and fragile. But now I see that not that much was damaged during apply and clear and sand and polish.

The clear cote I used the first time as well, X-22 highly thinned with X-20A.
The first coats were very smooth, but small things went wrong, so sanding and then clear again. As I cleared the second time, I had problems with it.
It looked like on some edges some little bulbs came where the paint didn´t want to stay. Any idea why that happend?

I think I have a new clear cote: Tamiya instead of Humbrol!

Here some pics, please enjoy! :D

Since the bodies are painted, I still keep them out of my hands. For the first time I used Tamy X-clear, I read many times it needs its time to dry... so small stuff to build. I´m still too lazy to start the interior and the holes which are behind the door- cards... the blue plastic is too strong.

This I did so far:
Above, the Blitz- kit dashboard which goes to a Time-Attac R34 as next.
Down, the dashboard from Aoshima Top Secret R34. I borrowed it till I start it, it will get back a new Tamiya dash.

I cutted the upper part off and had to cut holes for the roll cage and holdings. It had to be longered about 3mm to match the original part.
The white styrene plate on top will be the part with 3 gauges.

Some more stuff for the 2004 version: Mr. Model hood fasteners, painted gold and standart R34 mirrors from Tamiya VSpecII R34. The glasses are wraped in BMF ulrta bright chrome.

Stuff for the 2006 version: Wings and mirrors wraped in Studio27 CF type M decals, the mirror glasses are made from PE-parts frame and have BMF ultra bright chrome as well. Mr. Model fasteners painted clear blue.

Hello again! :grinno:

I´m not really happy about the window trim, I didn´t like to mask the body and maybe destroy the decals.
The trim border line is black tape and the inside of it is brush painted. Maybe I can correct some areas as next.

It´s a practise before I do it on the 2006 version. Back to 2004, I´m really happy that I have changed the mirrors.

Hope you like it.
