ford escort (extremly modded) in progress

hi guys, im ant im new on here, iv been modeling for about a year now, some of your mods are amazing, i was routing around this morning an i found an old ford escort that i used to have wen i was about 10, its in a pretty bad way as you wil see from the pics, i have big big plans for this here they are.....

- big chrome rims :p
- lower a bit more at the back
- big install 5 speakers
- full rollcage
- new engine
- turbo !!
- remove the pillers from the doors
- suicide doors ..... if i can find a way of doing it lol
- i dont think this has ever been done but im goin to attempt to widen the whole car by 20mm!! ( if anyone has done this could you post some pics please )
- flip flop bonnet
- flip paint job, purple to gold wiv a hint of pink
- if it works out i mite even do a wide body kit

yep its 1:18 and its UT models or somthin, there will be more pics soon, im makin a new work desk at the moment so i cnt get properly started till a few days cant w8 to get it goin tho :p

yer should end up about 40mm wider than standard, i cnt w8 get it done jus need more tym lol there should be more pics soon, i stared making the turbo today that shoud be fitted pretty soon, jus need to make an intercooler an stuff to go with it. ;)

for the paint job i was thinking a 2 tone say black at the bottom and white at the top with a gold devider, what you recon ?

What kind of a material did you use on those bodypanels?

to make the frame i just used layers of card, went over it with fiberglass its like filler but alot stoger it dosent crack the same, people use it to make boats, then wen i get the desired shap i want il filler iver the fiber glas to make it really smoot primer and paint, its more work but it pays off in the long run

oooo ryt get ya now, yer i have used the same stuff on my car, iv got a mk1 golf the indent that goes down each side i have filled that in and flushed the handles and boot lid primerd over them it look quite nice

as for the model iv made the wideness (if thats a word lol) down to 10mm i thought 20mm was too much il post some pics later, so u can tell me if you think iv made the right decision. :p

wow i thought noone could pull of the wide body kit where the car was cut down the middle. you sure proved me worng! great work and try to make the ferrari's front bumper fit onto the car. that would look so cool!

i have a queston, what are you going to do about the front windshield and the back window? you can't use the same piece because it's wider now.

on the other Escort thread you said you don't know what to do about the interior well here's and idea, if you do decide to put the Ferrari front end on the car then you might as well put Ferrari components in the interior seats, dashboard, center console, luguage set, etc.

dam that bumper from the 550 looks crazy! you seem to kno what you are doing with that fiberglass stuff i think you should GO FOR IT! also the hood it would be a nice conversion project, but thats up to you, project is going to turn out amazing anyway

someone who can't afford a Ferrari so they buy a Ford and put a Ferrari front end on it. Poor man's Ferrari! this reminds me of the pimp my ride where they put the bmw front end on the Ford escort. Sorry i currentley can't find pics of that car on mtv's website.

I am going to agree with AMNES. While the effort and workmanship is decent, the overall appeal is lacking. In my opinion, the vehicle has no appealing style or flow. I can understand some things are overdone, but many of them have flowing lines.

The flowing lines are a design concept. The lines depict an extremely wide flare kit; in a sense of being too wide. (Which I hinted at in the beginning of the thread.) A combination of widebody, and a widened section down the middle creates a sense of cartoon.

Personally, I prefer flowing elegant lines, definate shape, and realism. Thats my honest opinion. You asked, we answered. Think of this as constructive criticism.

^in the very beginning i agreed with mike and how i thought the body kit was too wide, but as it started to shape i noticed the body kit did seem to have gotten skinnier. now when i look at it i think it looks okay but can be a little bit thinner. but this is your car and you should make it how ever you want it. and for the tail lights, how about the ferrari's tail lights?
