Possible SLP board...

It just occurred to me upon seeing the Saleen board. Saleen does the same thing that SLP does, just not to as many vehicles. SLP has the SS, the Firehawk, the Thunderbolt, the Camaro RS, the Firebird GT, the GTX Ram Air, as well as other vehicles that they aren't producing any longer. I know that the SS is the only nameplate that's back under GM or any of the other manufacturers. Therefore, the other vehicles are strictly labeled as SLP's product. It's worth a try I figured. :)

Hmm, it's been four months. Why not even a reply from a moderator or webmaster?

Well, quite frankly I'm not the brightest crayon in the box when it comes to these things, but I thought I'd atleast warrant your post with a reply. It is likely that if your thread was "neglected" that no one felt it was of enough interest to reply. Just a guess. Sorry for upsetting you.

No, it's cool. Like you said, all I needed was a reply. So I thank you for that. Is there anyway I could find out why there's no interest in an SLP board?

Just a guess, but possibly there isn't enough of a draw for such a board??? For example, there aren't a whole heck of a lot of Yugo owners, so the Yugo board exists in mediocrity (and probably only as such so we can poke fun :p) Perhaps if the time comes when we see a need for this classification then the board could be created... My $.02

BlackCamaroSS,

I noticed you went with a Holley Powershot Filter. Why not the Donaldson offered by SLP? Is the Holley better? I just got an 02 SS w/ most performance options (sans Air Box Lid) and was thinking of making the lid and filter my first mods. What's MrEd's pipe fix?

I went with the Holley Filter because I saw better numbers from it than I did from other aftermarket filters. At the point in time when I was ordering the filter, I didn't even know of the Donaldson filter from SLP. On the SLP board, I've heard mixed emotions about the Donaldson filters as well, so I'm glad I went with the choice that I made.

Quick question, are you on the SLP board?

When I purchase the new lid from SLP, the pipe that came with it hit the under side of the hood. There's a gentleman on SLP's message forum with the screen name "Mr. Ed". He makes an "S" shaped piece that replaces the one that comes from SLP and doesn't hit the hood. Works really well, and looks like it came from the factory that way. Almost everyone with a lid on the SLP board has one. They're really nice. Hope that helped and welcome to this board.

Also, a response about the SLP board, SLP now has the go-ahead to produce the Adventure, based off of the blazer. It probably will mirror what they did with the Typhoons and Syclones...

Thanx for the info. BlackCamaroSS. I just registered at SPL mssg board under same name. :)

So the pipe sticking out from the lid hits the hood? Bummer. You'd think SLP would design it correctly given they put the damn hood on the car?

Even though Tangie has already answered your question, I just wanted to add, if you can generate the traffic and it will be consistent, I can assure you it will be made.

DVS, good to know, muchas gracias.

Danno, SLP has been talking with Mr. Ed, and they might want to buy the rights from him to use that piece with their lids. Shows how much better it works...

Don't expect too many mustangers to support an SLP based forum.

Not to mention, that this thread is pretty old. If it hasen't happened by now, then I don't really see it happening any time soon. Sorry.
