Fujimi 1/24th Murcielago kit with quite a few extras here and there. My first streetcar for an awful long time. :)
Body was painted with PPG Verde Ithaca, details of all that are in the progress thread (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=310193) and more pics can be found on my website (http://rallycars.topcities.com/).

Stunning work! Awesome color, nice wheels and great, great detailing! I especially like the 'shock absorber' (or whatever it's called in English) that is connected to the hood and the body. Haven't seen that before on a model. Definitaly interested in more road cars of you :D

 Cant really find words for this since everyone else has used up all the good words but this is a totally stunning build, such accuracy & detail in every department & very hard to beleive you've put it together by hand.
Whats your secret with panel lines Phil, they are so perfect. I know you made them "deeper" but is there any paint in them.

Cheers, Mike

But, ... now that I think about it..., Lamborghini is in the Volkswagen group, so I may start one soon :grinyes:

Murcie, Murcie that's gorgeous. :)
The pearlescent paint is striking.

You did a fantastic job with that engine bay as well.
You really turned a lump of coal into a diamond under that engine cover.

Thank you for the kind words everybody. I'm really happy with the way this model turned out. Since I managed to get it finished quicker than expected, I wonder if I should ask the PMan to substitute it for the Audi R8 that I have entered in the AFMOTY comp? :p

Mike, the panel lines are purely scribed, there is no paint in them, just shadows. Very tedious process scribing them down but I am now a convert.

Carl, Lamborghini have been mounting the seatbelts on the inside like that since the Diablo.

Deedlit, yes Lamborghini is indeed owned by VW, via Audi. In fact the Murcielago styling looks very much 'Audighini' to me, the Gallardo even more so.

It's certainly because the designer is belgian and gave a lot of inspiration to Audi. I can't remember his name but I know he had a kind of relation with Audi, worked for them before or was in the same design school than their designer, ... :dunno:

Edit: Luc Donckerwolke, and he was working at AudiAG

Mr. Phil:

Remember me saying that I didn't like the colour? Well, you've made me change my mind completely....And the Museum Collection carbon decal isn't that "in your face" as I thought it would be...
Congratulation on an excelent model. I particularly like the engine lid supports (gas cylinders, I think?)

Thank you very much for sharing your magnificent work!

Thanks again for the kind words everybody. I've uploaded a whole lot more pictures of the Murcielago to my website. If you look closely you will see plenty of things that aren't perfect. :)

BTW in case you hadn't noticed, I love the pearlescent Lamborghini/PPG paints. They are for full size cars but the metallic/pearl/mica flake is smaller than most hobby paints! The colour shift on Verde Ithaca isn't as pronounced as on CADguy's Arancio Atlas Murcielago. I think that might be because I clear coated with Tamiya TS-13. It kind of re-flowed the surface and changed its properties quite a bit.

Having purchased this kit myself inspired by your build, and just spent last night looking at it, I can appriciate all the work you put into this to make it look this good.

Don't let us waste anymore time and tell us were the faults are! Atleast I can't spot them... :grinno:

I just gave my Murci first coat of primer, I'm planning to paint it with Testors' Boyd Aluma Yellow (can't use any 'real' paints for a while because of insufficient ventilation :crying: ).

Wow. You know, we're really going to have to be careful with people like you and Steve around because Fujimi is going to start thinking they're selling magic kits or something.

The engine lid strut rods are an incredible detail. Very clever element.

I'm thouroughly impressed. :bigthumb:
