i havent done anything to piss him off, i dont belive. ive kept my cool. just its getting down to the wire on my apartment contract and school ending. so im just stressed out. and the shop i am at charged me 50$ for having my car take up a lift and not having the parts as a storage cost. so that pissed me off. i was cool till then. now im just trying ot get an answer.

I say just keep trying to reach him and sooner or later he's bound to respond. If not theres always the BBB.

Well i called his house, talked to his brother and he said hed talk to jake and call me back. but for some reason this kinda starting to worry me because i called and his dad answered the phone and i asked for jake, then his brother picks up.... and says hes not there... so thats kinda weird. but im hoping i get a call or a tranny withing the next week!!!!

don't you have the tracking number of the shipment. check with fedex/dhl/ups for it. if it was sent then the shipping company is at fault for it taking so long. like i said try to find it with the tracking number. also did you insure the shipment? if so file a claim on it and get your money back.

I like Jake a lot, and he has been very helpful to me personally, and to AF in the past. I just want him to come on here and make this right--if it means apologizing for not shipping the tranny and valve cover, and fixing things financially for you guys, or really getting you the parts this time, so be it.

My mom had a mechanic fix something and screwed her over, we took him to court and since he basically stole 1200$ he went to prision for 2 years.... money and cars are a bad thing to mess with. its peoples transportation and ways of life. and n e ways why risk it? I dont think hes scamming me off of 1 solid fact, he left a trail.. ways to contact him, and did it on paypal. thats like the 2 hardest parts of a court case, the rest is judgement. so i trust he will make it right, or i will make it right the wrong way. heh

Hello all, this is Jakes brother Brian (if you couldnt tell lol). I have talked to a couple members from here in the last few days and realize that there has been a problem so I decided to join the site and follow this thread. Now I know I helped Jake build the crate that the transmission went in and I even rode with him to the shipping place. The reason I dont know what shipping company he used is because there is 3 companies in 1 building here. UPS, FedEx, and the post office. He went in, then came back out a few mins later, and some guy came around with a fork lift and picked it up out of the back of his truck, then we left. So from that point on I have no clue where it ended up. Now for the valve cover (I believe that was the other concern) I dont know anything about that. I guess you will have to talk to him about it.

Yes, our grandmother died 2-1/2 weeks ago. I wasnt really close to her but Jake was. Both our grandmother and grandfather moved to Florida right around 2 years ago after our father died. Since then he has gone down just about every other month to see them. He is a very busy guy, and frankly I am surprised to see that he is a moderater on this site. He doesnt have much time for anything let alone keep up a website. He got his new job about 2 months back and was preparing to move and have everything final by the 1st of December which has happened, although he doesnt have a phone anymore, nor does he have internet. For those of you that I talked to, sorry for misleading you thinking that Jake was actually logged on, he has most of his passwords saved on our computer and I couldnt figure out how to disable them so everytime I would come on the computer I would get bombarded with messages so I just deleted the program and reinstalled the ones I needed to use, like MSN. Its getting very annoying and my Mom and Step-dad are about to change their number since its all over the internet now... and I guess people just wont stop calling for Jake, middle of the night, early in the morning. They are sick of getting woken up just so they can say, "Nope, hes not here".


Personally I know he sent it out unless the guy at the shipping place was stealing it. I could never see him doing such a thing as your saying he is doing! He goes out of his way to help anyone, I remember back this year when he drove to Kansas to help a guy change his cylinder head and the following weekend drove to Chicago to help a guy change his head gasket. Shit, not too long ago he changed a guys transmission fluid for free (someone he met on here). If he was such a theif do you think he would do that? I understand that you are worried and I think I would be if I were you also but you have got to think, maybe something happened in the shipping. I dont know if he wrote the address exactly the way it was perfectly matching the correct address to where he was suppose to send it, shit for all we know it could be 2 houses down or something and people are all sue happy getting ready to throw my brother in jail. People make mistakes, if they didnt, they wouldnt be human. Please just let me try and get a hold of him before you take any legal action. If I have to I will drive up to his place and ask him myself if he knows whats going on. I just want to add that the people who do make fake PayPal account can't really cash in their money because its under a fake name. They could use it to pay you shit but if you file a claim, they take it back 90% of the time. If you can, file a claim. Did you pay with a credit card?

I've known jake on the forums before, he never had any problems before so I would say wait but its all up to you because that PayPal thign looks suspicious. Was that account you paid too verfied?

If he hadn't driven all over the place helping newbies from this site, driven 2 hours to his job and worked 15+ hours a day, then slept at work, then MAYBE I would let people think up "theories" about how he is scamming.

The bottom line is that he is going to have to get his new place and a phone before anyone can contact him. Everyone BETTER believe his brother is trying to help you, because he is the only way you'll talk to Jake. Lastly, if anyone causes his poor parents to change their phone number because they call in the middle of the night, they won't have this site to talk about it anymore.

If everyone trusted him, then this thred would of died out.. but people can put thier selfs in my shoes. and by the way i just got done talking to the person who is working on my car, who has been patient holding my car for 6 weeks, if he wasnt a family friend everyone knows that they would of made me tow my car home till i had the parts. and while talking to him, ups, dhl, usps have a max on shipping, jakes brother said it was forklifed off.... then the limit is around 80 lbs i belive..... so he had to use a private shipping company, and if i could get a tracking number or the name of the company, they might have trouble finding the place its going to becuase i gave the guys name, and not the busniess name. and if i was able to contact them i could clear it up. im not saying jake is a bad person just i am concerned, because if it is a shipping problem and its a private company i dont belive they will drive back to idaho for free! and i paid 170 for shipping, so i wouldnt like to have to pay that agian... make since. even u admin so and so, so ur watching this thred because it has grown so much, am i wrong? i dont think joe was threatening you. i think he was talking to hellah fresh. because of what he said.

and 80 lbs ins't the limit with fedex. i worked for fedex not to long ago and you can put on i believe up to a 140 lbs. pakage before it gets bumped off onto the dock. 140 lbs + goes to frieght. so check with your local fedex terminal. i would think that ups is the same limits on things. and i don't think the usps would ever send something like that.

Im not talking behind his back and im not discrediting him. I know he has alot of knowledge about DSMs but im just speaking my mind. It ain't my fault he agreed to sell something to that person and that person who paid that money never recieved it. $600 buks... That is alot of money you know. This is the attitude that pisses me off about AF. If Jake wasn't a moderator, he would be banned. If Jake wasnt a moderator, nobody would be sticking up for him. As much as I like Jake, whatever he is doing is shady. And anyone who belives this whole "Jake's brother" BS is a dumbass.

it may be a conicidence that last few times when i was still able to get in touch with him... he said he sent it (again, wasn't able to provide tracking) and obviously i never got it. and one time after another everytime we talked, he always assured me the same thing that "he'll go bitch the post office out". 4 months has passed.

and then there is the shady paypal thing. when i was sending him the money, he assured me to send it through wire, since he didn't have a paypal account.

I do not believe anyone on here is sticking up for Jake because he's a moderator, so stop jumping to conclusions there as well. When someone takes other people money and doesn't give them the parts they paid for, it is other peoples business. Are you going to buy stuff from Jake now? Well, from what Jakes, told me, hes gotten paid over a thousand dollars for some stuff hes done. He wouldnt waste him time if he didnt get paid very well. Gas isnt that much money. If he drove a thousand miles, he paid at the most $100 for gas. Big deal.

It is none of my business to tell anyone on this forum some of the stuff I know about Jake. Thats why I kept my mouth shut. Do you know why he got fired from his last job? Do you know how he got his welding helmet? You probably don't.

You would make a terrible lawyer. The facts do not permit anyone to conclude that he didn't ship the tranny. Mail gets lost, redirected, misdirected, shipped down the street, shipped to 63rd street instead of 63rd avenue, etc.

I bought a turbo from a guy, and it took 3 weeks to get here. That was a turbo--if he sent a tranny via ground shipping, with the holidays and all, it could still be en route, depending on when he shipped it, and where it had to go.

When someone takes other people money and doesn't give them the parts they paid for, it is other peoples business

Im about tired of this shit, im to the point where i am now pissed. The shop called me bitching at me because ive tied up a lift and the last 3 weeks they could of got alot done on other cars in 3 weeks. so i want some info and soon. The shop said any shipping company, any freight company can track a package in under 30 minutes. so thats suspicious. hes changing everything, phone turned off.... 670$ is alot, espically being in college, and barly having time to work even part time. He knows me #, my e-mail address, home #, and how to PM me. its not that he cant find me and get ahold of me its the fact that he wont. And the guy /w the valve cover, same here he assures me its in the mail, or everything is going good. If its not hes in for a suprize.
