As we have alot of new member's and some of our long standing member's don't know each other. I thought it would be a good idea to get to know each other in a effort to build a firebird forum that we can all come to and not feel like the new kid in class and then take off like has been happening over the past couple of years. Anyway I'll start out

My name is John I'm 26 and I live in New Jersey, I work as a Travel agent and own a 97 Z3 2.8 and my baby 96 Formula 383 LT1 (I won't go into mods right now but if you would like to know I would be glad to share) I spend alot of my spare time at Englishtown Raceway and in my garage working on my car. It has always been a hobby of mine and I will always own a american muscle car as long as I have a say in it.

Good choice no matter what the T56 guys tell you. I got some spare goodies if your ever interested (Corvette Servo and Transgo shims). And yeah your not too far at all I'm in Central also but a little lower by Belmar but my Mother works up by you in Maplewood. Also did you ever meet our lovely other member Jen?

edd863
10-14-2004, 12:24 AM
ah, maplewood, thats real close to me. would you recommend the corvette servo, cause I was looking for things to upgrade, and the tranny was one of em. But if its worth it, id be interested... and no, I have no had the honor of meeting the lovely Jen yet.

FormulaLT1
10-14-2004, 12:30 AM
The corvette Servo is good upgrade to tranny it helps with higher pressure to give firmer shifts while also providing a more reliable servo and its usually used in conjuction with a shift kit. I have a Transgo shift kit and Corvette 2nd servo (which is the extra one I have) installed in my car and I notice a big improvement over the stock slow shifts.

Also on a side note I think you have a fan and becareful with a looker like her she could be a home wrecker. (just kidding Jen)(down girl).

im Kyle, im 17, and i live in florida (gotta love those hurricanes.) my hobbies are building computers and rc planes, designing games with a group of friends for the pc, saving old muscle cars from their empending doom at the junk yard and restoring them, and as with any firebird owner, i LOVE to drive my baby (i own a 1990 firebird formula t-top with a stock 455 in it.) if anyone has any problems with their car as far as mechanical and cosmetic damage, i would be glad to help out if i can. also, i make a living off the cars i restore and sell, so if anyone wants a car let me know and if i dont have 1, ill go find 1 and restor it for u... for a price ofcourse :D

Yep last year of the L98 it had iron heads. I bought it from an older guy that babied it and kept it garaged. I only have one pic of it but I haven't been able to find it since most of my stuff is packed up. I miss that car it was really in good shape for being 7 years old when I got it even the hatch didn't rattle and there were no squeaks. Only problems I had with it were the intake plenum runners leaking coolant once and the lousy window motors.

I'll dig that pic up and post it once I get relocated I'm driving back to Kansas this Monday to take a new job back there. Pretty nervous about moving back home after all these years and definately not looking forward to 20 hours on the road, but I plan to stop in either tucumcari nm or amarillo tx for a rest overnight just depends on how early I leave Monday.

Wow that sounds like one bad Ass Formula, I had the L98 block in 2 Vettes I owned and they are torque animals. It actually feels faster stock for stock than a LT1 even though higher rpm's they say it falls but I didn't feel it. It was also able to break the rear loose real easy. Post a pick if you can find it. Also good luck with job and take it easy on the road I know what those long hauls feel like and trust me pull into the rest stop before the blue dots show up. Also thanks for the sticky we all appreciate it.
John

Anyway to get to more personal note about my day. I have been talking with my aunts on my father side. My father had passed away a few years ago and I had found out he had another child with this woman while he was married to my mother and I don't know if I should try and get in contact with the woman to meet my half sibling or not.

Insanity_97
10-14-2004, 01:48 PM
well did your aunts tell you where this woman is or her name or anything? This kind of thing interests me, I don't know my dad and have been looking for him since I was 18....Maybe I can help you if you really want help?

FormulaLT1
10-14-2004, 01:52 PM
Well I have thought about hiring a private detective or trying to track her down with those online detective software. All they could basically tell me is that she was born in New Rochelle, NY and lived in Harison and her first name was Samatha. Also I couldn't imagine what its like not knowing your father.

Insanity_97
10-14-2004, 01:57 PM
the mom was born in NY or your half sister??!!!

funny....I was born up east.....but we moved way south when I was way little and I know nothing of the north east....
There are probably alot of Samanthas in NY, lol...it's a common name....

FormulaLT1
10-14-2004, 02:01 PM
No my half sibling would have been born in New Rochelle it was the local hospital to Harison NY and Its funny you mentioned my half sister because they never found out weither it was a boy or girl and I was kinda hoping I had a brother rather than a sister as I already have one of those and she is a handful

Insanity_97
10-14-2004, 02:04 PM
LOL! there I go ASS U ME (ing)...so you don't know the sex, but you know the moms name AND where the sibling was born....do you have any idea round about when??

FormulaLT1
10-14-2004, 02:08 PM
All they really knew for sure was it was between me and my sister age who is 33 because they where very young at the time (they are like 12-15 years younger than my father).
