When's the last time you saw a performance domestic owner say, "Man, I can't wait until I can smoke that Civic"? Most domestic owners however do like to smoke imports on the street though, b/c it gives them the feeling of showing them who's boss.

Prelude = 200 BHP 4 cyl NON turbo...

I seriously don't know what the hell you're so proud about... Did the Prelude have a turbo too? No? Cause if it did, it would've shown you who your daddy is!!!!!

The T5 is a five cylinder turbo with 236hp mines has factory sport springs and bridgestone S02's on it ...... I know it can beat a prelude cuz i just done that .... I know it can beat a Celica GTS ..... I know i can beat V6 Camaros and i also beat an Impala (the ones with 212hp) that put up a better fight for all the seconds that the turbo hadn't spooled up

and i played around with a Supra TT on a rolling start from about 35 at which point 75mph he handed me my ass

i cannot believe i just read 9 pages of posts. but really the argument should be over. domestic drivers compare their performance models to the import economy vehicles. its that simple. a ford escort or a chevy cavalier is in the same class as a honda civic. now when the real import enthusiasts can make their econocars beat a car with more HP, more torque and 4 more cylinders its a real accomplishment. so please chill out all of you. if v8s want a better challenge then your average broke teen in a dx, go find supras, rx-7s, nsx's s2000's, and other import performance cars. it all about the classes. i would be very amazed to see an escort beat an s2000 or supra or the like. no one understands this. and im tired of people comparing thri fastest cars to our slowest ones. a civic was not made to race v8s which are made to tear the asphalt. but as i said, its amazing when people can build 9 or 11 second hondas.

my friend is building an h22 driven 700HP turbo hatch. he runs 12.9's now without the 700HP turbo! so look out for him. damn i need more money lol.

That was wonderful...Good luck to your friend. I haven't decided rather or not I'm going to end up adding a TT setup to my car or not. I'll have to wait until summer and see what my finances are going to be like before I make a final decision.

i think i commented on the Civic vs V8 thing before but i think that was in the racing forum

you're right it doesn't make sense its a completely different class vehicle and you can build a more powerful civic for less than you can build a powerful camaro including the cost of the car

o and i have conceeded that it wasn't a fair race i mean i was beating the poor sap even before the turbo kicked in

well in that case the turbo prelude would have to race turbo camaros and stuff cuz its not fair for a turbo prelude to race a non-turbo camaro ss doesnt "have a turbo too" right?

its not his fault that guy bought a prelude instead of something faster, if it was unfair the prelude shouldnt have raced him.

I have raced more than a few T5 volvos with my 95 accord with prelude motor, b4 built motor with most regular bolt ons. Also have raced two T6 models and they pull away pretty steady after about 55mph. I have beaten each of the T5's but always get the feeling they would be closer if they drove as good or as hard as I was driving, one felt as if he would have been even if he could have shifted a bit quicker then he was. All the moderators types in these forums keep telling me to worry about HP versus weight, nothing else matters.

I am now built at 9.5 to 1 with sleeves and titanium parts in a 3 angle vavle job head. I also chose to bored from H22A vtec to H23VTEC, we shall see if that helps with any turbo lag, seriously thinking about putting a 50 wet shot to prime the turbo down low.
