Anyone know if the new Ford Freestar wheels will fit our Windstars ? They have some nice 17s out there that are factory. Thank you.

I don't know for sure, but the two vans are nearly Identical besides the nose and interior. As far as the drive train goes, I can't see them changing the bolt pattern. They tried to change as little as possible on this model, Mostly just a name change.

The vans look similar having the 'almost' the same platform and engine family block - but that's where it ends. Under the similar skin the Freestar is different. Virtually nothing from a Windstar will fit a Freestar - except seats.
Windstar bolt pattern is 5x108. Freestar wheel bolt pattern is 5x114.3
Hope that helps someone.

...And the Transaxle. It's the same. Many other parts too.
But no, the wheels will not fit, cause a 114.3 is too big for a 108mm.

Hi... I don't own a Freestar but was Ford tech for ten years 97-07. The comment on the trans fitting is not entirely correct. As an ex Ford mechanic
I can see the bolts lining up, but nothing else. 2004 was sort of a change for Ford. The 500 was the new Taurus, Freestar came out and Freestyle came out and Ford changed things at that time. The Freestar trans is differnent internally. The hydraulics were all new. This I believe was done to fix the Windstars notorious trans failures. Ford did a good job in 04, but we shook our heads in 05 when we started seeing trans failures on the Freestar. The trans was fine - but for some reason Ford used inferior trans splines where the engine couples to the engine. They tended to strip. Causing catastrophic failure, by sending metal shards to the nice newly designed trans. So the question is ' if it bolts up then it will work right?' No. The computer controlling the engine and trans is differnt on the Freestar. I don't have books to look things up anymore, but as a mechanic this is why the two vans parts are not interchangeable. The most reliable domestic mini van in my opionion is the 06-07 Frestar. Ford fixed the spline problem and those vans are as good as a Toyota. p.s. also the traction control could sometimes be problematic - just disconnect the fuse. You will spend more $ trying to repair this than it's worth.

Thanks for your information Rick, it's good to have these informations on the Freestar.
I didn't know that the 06-07 Freestar's transmission were good. Now I know which will be my next vehicle.

If you guys want to run Freestar wheels or any other 114.3 wheel, I'm selling a set of wheel adapters I had made. Check out the link, I used them to run Mustang wheels on my Windstar.
