Just the first steps on what will be quite a long project, to include Ferrari Mythos engine, Celica convertable chop, SAS body kit, SAS brakes and SAS Sparco seats, Etched Sparco seat belts and custom wheels and flared rear arches.
All coments and suggestions welcome

Looks like its off to a running start. This is a great idea. Have you thought about shortening the wheelbase? if you cut out some of the space between the door and the rear wheel arch, you could make it less obvious how far forward the cockpit is, especially in what looks is going to be a two seater. Are you going to do the entire back end from scratch? You could use a Modena, or a Boxster for the nice little bubbles behind the seats, and the glass over the engine (or perhaps the Mythos? I am not familiar with that car). Wow, what a cool build. This is a fantastic idea! I can't wait to see what you do with it. And like bigfrit says, don't hurry. Patience will be key in something this ambitious. Don't rush, because something that isn't right from the start will just frustrate you until you fix it and make the whole thing even more difficult. Wow. Can't wait to see this shape up!!

Very imaginative! If shortening the wheelbase doesnt appeal to you, you may want to consider just making it a four seater, if there's enough room. Keep us posted on the progress.

There isn't going to be much room once the V12 is in and the engine bay is constructed. It is going to be a 2 seater and I am going to be using the Celica rear end but thanks for the idea on the boxster rear hood, I will have a look around and see how it looks (was going to use the Mythos rear hood but I think the Boxster may be better).

Hi Justin, the rear is going to be moulded on but the clear engine cover (may become body colour)will be either removable or hinged to show the top of the engine. all the cage will be viewable from under the car as there are no inner arches at the rear.

This thing really has me scratching my head. Its quite profound. I dont really like convertables, the only ones I like are Ferrari Modena's. And even those I have somewhat of an issue with.
This project is quite intresting, I am intrested in seeing more. What about other asthetics? Will there be any?

The car is going to have a full SAS body kit and small GT wing, Sparco seats etc.

Must admit it is a bit of a tight squeeze getting the V12 in to a Toyota, anyone would think the Celica wasn't designed to have a Ferrari engine in it :naughty:

i thought of trying something like that, in a roadster. i was doing some crazy things last night, just figuring a scratch build, putting 5 cars together, getting a modernized roadster.

yes the bulk of the chassis work is done, just the custome fire wall to fabricate and the front wheel track to increase the width on. The rest is almost kit standard apart from the Sparco seats.

Bit of an update on the cabin,
Cab has been converted to a two seater and first seat in place, still loads to do on it but thought I would get some opinions.
PS everything looks much shinier in the pics than in real life.

cheers guys,
Bas: thanks for the comment on the rear cover, it has taken about 10 hours to get it to that stange and its not quite good enough yet.
Not looking forward to choping the front and rear bumpers off and building up the OTT rear arches to house the wider wheel base at the rear
