Just a sneak preview for you Bas, I know you love rear ends :naughty: . A lot of work still to do but this gives a very good idea of the look when on the chassis

This really is becoming one mean machine! You're absolutely right, I just love rear ends! Ask my girlfriend :evillol: I would like to hear a prognosis. When do you think your body will be done and, more important, which color are you thinking of?

I think it will take in the region of 2 weeks to get the sanding done and scribe the panel lines etc.
Colour....hmmmm I think either Mica blue over copper, Ferrari red or bright white, any opinions??

Bas Carwash
06-09-2004, 04:36 AM
If I had to choose between the colors you named I would go for Ferrari red I think. White is nice, but I don't know if it suits this car... Suggestion: Modena Yellow :naughty: Looks awesome on this car.

lotusmark2

No just a single hump like the Jaguar D-Type

Decided to go with Mica Blue as I have painted the interior to match so here she is with a chrome base coat.

OK guys need some help!
I was 99% sure I was going mica Blue on the body but after Bas's suggestion I have just looked at yellow.... do you guys think the interior would look ok in a yellow car??
http://hometown.aol.co.uk/Lotusmark2/Update3.JPG

labandabonnot
06-14-2004, 07:05 AM
If whole blue, the interior would have been wonderful for a yellow exterior, but grey...
If you can make the grey parts become black or blue, that would be ok, but if you can't, just go on with the blue exterior choice. Both colors would suit the car anyway.
...
By the way, the car looks wondeful with its chrome base coat! Nice job!

Cheers

With this interior blue definitely is the best choice. Labandabonnot is absolutely right. Forget what I said and go go go with Mica Blue!!!

aren't you gonna flare the fenders?!?!?

not too sound rude, but i wouldn't have flared the rear guards as much as you did. looks more like a bubble than an actual flare. The 22b and a STI Coupe are a very good indication of the difference between flared guards and stock.
You've done a great job and I can respect that. Just giving my perspective.

lotusmark2
06-15-2004, 10:57 AM
Sebstar, repect your point of view mate and thank you for your comments.
My design idea when I set out with this car was to go with an 80's hyper car look with a bit of reto in as well, that is why I have gone huge on the rear arches (that and the fact that a V12 takes a lot of fitting in a Celica).
Wanted to leave the front quite stock with just the SAS body kit as I was imagining this car pulling out of a blind corner.....would imagine comments would go something like this
oh it just a Celica..... oh its a Celica cabrio....... oh shit what the hell is that!!

i c what you are both saying but i think u shood do little flares in the front other than that looks beautiful. And the interior hehe ithink shood b black with blue not really a fan of grey interiors but it mite look goood against blue. Well w/e you do itll look nice :)

Thinking of getting a custom decal done for the sides to tie the front and rear together, so if anyone has the ability and hardware to create custom decals please let me know.

Yup I agree, sweet color!
It looks awkward in the first pic...like it has a really tall deck(does that make sense too anyone?), but holy how that last pic is dropdead gorgeous! You sculpted that front portion of the fenders beautifully.I also like how you cut out that rectangular section of bumper.
gotta show this to my friends :)

Thanks for the comments guys, glad you guys are liking what I am doing (always a bonus)
Another choice is coming up, I am considering a custom made silver rip decal for the sides, opinions please as I am not sure if I would prefer the sides as they are.

Don't get me wrong but that colour that reflects in body look pretty nice to me in combination with that mica blue, a bit to "softy" but it matches perfectly.

Sorry sjelic, do you mean the orange colour of the walls of my house?

Sweet it is a bit strange to se a Celica with out roof... but it looks awesome;) but I have wondered if it had not looked better if you had made it like Ferrari testarossa. If you know what I mean. And you might have made wider front skirts or something… but enough of suggestions.

Good work and a strange but awesome concept car;)
