not a bad idea, maybe i could make a little castin of a light unit, not sure, but i think i like your idea, and yes i do understand what you mean in a strange way, lol!!!!
if anyone has any spare light units for the skyline i would be very greatful :sunglasse :sunglasse

if anyone has any spare light units for the skyline i would be very greatful :sunglasse :sunglasse
There are a few ways you could do it, all involving various methods of casting and so on. Here's how I'd do it:
1)Paint the back of the headlight lens with Maskol or some type of liquid masking fluid. Protects the clear plastic :)
2)Get a big block of putty/filler and press the back of the lens into the surface. Make sure it's deep enough to have made an impression but don't push the lens in too far or you won't get it back out again.
3)When dry, lift the lens out gently and peel off any Maskol
4)You should now have a big lump of solid putty with an imprint of the headlamp lens.
5)Carve it down to size until you have a sort of headlamp shaped "block" (much like a 1/24 version of a real car light)
6)Using a drill & file, carefully make a hole in the middle and file outwards until you are left with your headlamp vent

well i just gave it a coat of primer and boy is it looking good, one of my friends saw it on my desk last night and asked what kit i got it out of, which is a compliment i think!
Have a couple of tiny bits to putty up (small pinhead sized pieces) then it should be done by the end of the day!

the small strange looking patches and spots are from where the primer is "reacting" with something, i will just sand it down and re spray. Its quite a think primer and tends to react to strange substances.

Chris as you have gone this far and making a good job you should really.
Remove the bits in the top opening.
and sand in the inside so it's smooth.
Then you will have a great replica bumper :)

money is not an issue for the car, its just insurance. i refuse to pay of £5000 a year to be covered just incase something happens.
I work hard and get paid bloody well and only use the car for pleasure, and comute to work by train so cars can be toys for me.
Gonna keep modding my IS200 until i can get the R34, getting a supercharger etc for it, coilovers and stuff like that.
here is my IS200

ok well here it is before it gets a full primer coat, then a final sand then paint. have decided to deviate from origional plan of making do luck skirts etc as i realy love the sas cwest skirts and rear bumper, i think they go well together. and my decals for a full rep will be a while, so i might just buy the sas kit to make that rep, possible an engine?
but for now this car is as far as it gets for body mods, am realy happy with the bumper. will be doing more work like this in the future.

might do it in a blue? not sure yet, something dark tho.

Great job, man. It's takes me months to do a simple body kit.The Do-luck body kit is definitely the most aggressive kit, and best-looking kit for the R34 in my opinion. I wish you would hold off on finishing that model, and make a mold for it. You'd probably sell a lot of them. I know I'd buy at least two from you. Anyway, keep up the good work!

Maybe in the future i might might start taking molds and sell a few, dont yet have the skill to mold yet tho, lol.
i have tons of skyline bumpers tho and am looking at making the top secret skyline next. maybe someone could take a mold of it for me and make a few when im done?
i will be buying the sas transkit for the do lukc skyline as i want to do several of them all in different states of design.
and one with an engine if i can.

Have just sprayed the car so expect photos in a bit, looks realy nice, not as dark as i was thinking of but has a more sleek feel to it.
Its a pearl light blue/purple. and will look sweet with a few decals i hope.
A set if Nismo rims will be going on tho!
