Okay, seeing as how you guys just don't get it, this is my last post here. The VIN is 1Z37J5S407752 if you wanna run it, you'll see that yes it is a stingray and it has the sucky L48 option. Seeing as how I don't like to go slow, I took out the 350, shortened the stroke of a 454, and dropped the 427 in there instead. (by the way I'm running a TH400 auto tranny). I don't know my 1/4 mile time because we don't have one within 200 miles of where I live. However it runs consistent 6.1s in the 1/8th mile. All that for under $3500. But, you probably still won't believe me. Oh well.

i had an 89 mustang 5.0.5speed....now i have a 96 maxima SE.......if u raced a Fuel injected mustang 5.0.....u would not really ....rape the thing....my 5.0 was faster than my max.....300tq@ and 225hp stock....and most of this at lower rpms......

If its stock OK, if not than no. I have a question thrasher, if you were to race your vette and you maxima which one would win?

The Vette would blow the doors off my Maxima. It has so muc torque it's just ridiculous. Plus, it has really fat rear tires (295's!), and the 4 speed actually shifts really quick. I would think it runs 0-60 somewhere around 5 secs and through the quarter somewhere in the 13's, no problem.

I stumbled onto this stupid thread by accident, but LOL, this guys a clown. A 1999 Z28 Auto will run 13.2's@106 and has a top end of 157+ MPH. This guys list is hogwash. The autos are faster in the 1/4 than the sticks too basically.

The 99 Z28 is the same car as my 2001 SS minus the hood scoop and a few minor things. My 2001 auto SS runs consistent 13.1@107 with only a K/N filter and and air lid. I've seen 155 mph with this car.

No stock pre '99 Mustang GT could run with my car. A Z28 SHOULD be faster, but that all depends on the driver. Like I said before, I outran an LS1 Trans Am once, so it all depends on the situation.

Took the video out. Took too much bandwidth. You are so out of touch with cars it's not funny. EVO, 276 HP, STI 300 HP, both weight about the same as my SS. My SS is rated at 325 HP, it's common knowledge among anyone with half a brain that the LS1 is actually putting out 350 in the 2000-2002 SS/Z28, same motor as the Vette/GTO which IS listed at 350 HP.

Now...An EVO/STI will run right with a SS in the 1/4 mile due to AWD, all are very low 13's cars...BUT...EVO/STI trap speed is about 102 MPH, SS/Z28 trap 106-108...those 4 -6 MPH show the 50+ additional HP the LS1 has over these cars.

Although close in the 1/4 mile an LS1 will take an EVO/STI out on the highway due to the additional HP and less drivetrain drag. AWD Sucks up HP out on the highway when your moving fast. I have an AWD Talon, I know a *bit* about AWD, LOL!

Simple fact is an LS1 F body is a 13.5-13.1 car depending on exact options and year, with a top speed of about 160 MPH.

Your 265 Maxima weights ****EXACTLY*** the same as an F body. It runs 1/4 miles in about 15.0@95 and has a HP to weight ratio of 13.32 pounds per HP. The LS1 has a HP to weight ratio of better than 11 pounds per HP.

Anyone with any shred of common sense can see unless the LS1 was grossly underdriven by a complete dolt or in a state of ill repair it would destroy your Maxima.

I mean, give us a break.

We're not talking some reasonable comparision like the EVO to STI which are closely matched. AN LS1 to your Maxima is like night and day. There is no basis to compare em speedwise the LS1 is in another whole different catagory than your Maxima.

Now, an old LT1 might be a better comparision with only 275 HP and no underrating they were no where near as fast as an LS1.
