This may seem like a stupid question to you but how do you post a picture on here anyway???
Also I was wondering if I could join the contest under concept...
I have been designing cars at the Pasadena College of Design where you research, apply your knowledge of the customer then design it. I highly recommend it.
I am only 16 though so do critasize (I think that is how you spell it) to much but I want your opinions and comments.
Oh is that ok if I make a front, side, and rear view but not a 3/4 I am still working on it and haven't perfected it yet.
Thanks,

If I have the time this evening I will post a picture of my 2003 Nissan S15 Silvia V-Package modeled by myself in LightWave 3D 6.0 Modeler and rendered in LightWave 3D. However, I do not have any examples of what it would be stock, but I can only try to make it as stock as *possible* since it was modeled to not be 100% stock.
Current modifications include:
Volk Racing GramLight 18" rims
Brembo 4-piston front calipers
Brembo Cross-Drilled Rotors (about 15")
SR20DET engine (incomplete)
Parts that I have modeled on the engine so far:
- Pistons
- Rods
- Camshafts
- Cam Gears
- Head Gasket
- Valves
- Valve Springs
- Crank shaft
Radiator
Front Mount Intercooler
Also includes a hybrid dual RS*R ExMag exhaust with dual tips. (Full dual exhaust from "cat-back")
Sparco (or some other brand) Racing Seats (Red/Black)
Tein Basic Front & Rear Coil-overs
Driving Lights mounted where side grills used to be
Black Housing headlights
Custom made body kit (well, atleast front lip, side skirts and rear skirt).
May also include flush-mount rear spoiler
Keep in mind that the model is completely original, I modeled everything myself over the last few months and have not actually seen *ANY* of these parts in real life so they may not be done to scale. Everything was modeled using 2D reference pictures only.
However, I did use a 1992 Honda Accord as inspiration and at first only began adding modifications to it. After deciding that the original model was insufficient (and ugly) I decided to remodel every single aspect of it, initially starting with only changing tail lights, hood, front bumper, and rear bumper. This lead to me remodelling the fenders, the doors (making it from a 4-door sedan to a 2-door coupe, all new polygons), removing the door handles and antenna, remodelling the quarter panels and rear deck, remodelling all the windows and the entire rear section, and the roof. If anyone doubts that this is my original work, I will post a picture of the 1992 Honda Accord model that I began basing it off of compared to the current model, both in wireframe mode so you can see the shape of each polygon.
I will attempt to render it using Radiosity with global illumination but this takes on average (for a 640x480 picture) approximately 30-45 minutes. I also have a date to go on tonight at 7 so unless I do it before than I won't have the opportunity. If I don't post pics within 2 days, someone send me a private message to remind me to do so (I'm at school right now so don't have them with me).
This is going into the Professional catagory.
My specs:
5+ Years of experience with 3D design programs including Bryce 3D, Bryce 4, Bryce 5, Poser 4, Poser 5, 3D Studio Max R3, 4, 5, Milkshape, and of course LightWave 3D.

Okay I managed to get some shots of the workspace and a few quick renders. I had spent about an hour and a half doing a Radiosity render but than Lightwave had an "unknown error" on the 3rd pass of the second section and quit without finishing. Here are a few pics to conserve bandwidth (yes, they are hosted on Cardomain.com) and the rest are on my cardomain site.
More pics, including engine parts pics and brakes/suspension pics.

Shot of Workspace (Solid model rendered in OpenGL)
The radiosity render was coming a long real nicely and looked damn sexy (except I had the rims set to reflective maps so they looked ugly) but I have to leave the apartment right now. Perhaps I'll start another render for while I'm gone.
Also, I realise there are a great deal of inaccuracies in this model, and it is by no means to scale. But you do the best with what you have (and I didn't have any blue prints for this =P).
