I just wanted to say if you guys are serious about art and selling it you really want to take your own photos and use magazine photos and etc. as references only.

I really want to join but I don't think I can finish in time.

thats too bad....i guess i am joining pro concept insted because, as of my knowledge at least, there are um, no beginner concepts.

i've started both of my drawings, the tuning car is gonna be a Lexus IS 200.. got the orig pic.. and i'm making a futuristic cab to the conceptcar thing=)

and i can tell you guys one thing, it was'nt easy for me doing a concept car, i've done about 20 sketches.. and only the futuristic cab went good..=) i've even tryed to to a retro pontiac GTO.. that was kinda hard=) should the car have a name?

i couldnt be stuffed with teh Z so me did a modded supra ya'll:D

I wont say any names, but I have seen most of the work on these boards and most of it is not considered pro. Somehow most people consider themselves pro. Not to be arrogant or anything...

actually i think its just how good you are relative to others...not tht its your perfession (sp?) i just think it wouldnt be fair if everyone was in beginner because the less experienced people would be blown away

I think the reason that everybody is in pro is that there is nobody in begginer.

i'm in beginner cuz i'm a beginner...i can't draw...wouldn't have a chance in pro and it would just be pointless for me to enter in that class..

yeah, ansisk is prolly talkin bout me. im for sure not the best, but the only two people actually IN beginner concept is or would be me and tweak hp---oh yeah, alot of fun with TWO people. So, even if my work is half as good as it should be for pro, and i lose horribly, so what, i dont care.

Professional refering to their skill level, not profession. None of us on these boards are pros. But if we compare our skill levels to other's work, then it is obvious that there should be more people in the lower class. I'm just saying that some people have too much confidence to be in the pro when their skills show that they should be in beginer. If this gets out of hand we can just create a middle class, because beginer and pro are complete opposites of the spectrum. Maybe Beginer, Amateur and Pro. How does that sound?

That sounds alright, and i know exactly what you are saying. But, you gotta see what im sayin. Only two people in beginner would be no fun. It would be more fun, for me at least, to lose in pro, even if my drawing is beginner quality, than to lose or win in beginner. The only real probelm with creating three classes is that that would lead to exactly what i was just saying, only 2 or 3 people per class. Do you know how many have entered the pro concept?

how bout just merging the 2 together to create one? I mean, it is a vote, so that makes it more fair, its not judged on skill or quality, more on popularity. Plus, it seems like not man ypeople have entered, so two classes of 3 or 4 wouldnt seem as effective as one of 8 or 9.

I just assumed that the person recieving the drawings (Zcaithaca), would decide which class you fall under. If it looks professional, then you're in pro class. Everything else goes into beginner. That's why I didn't specify which class I fall into, because I really don't know. It's all a matter of opinion. I figured we would let Zcaithaca decide.

All I'm saying, and I think everyone agrees, is that everyone has a different opinion of what a pro drawing is. By letting Zcaithaca decide, at least it will be consistent. Another point I want to bring up is that even a Professional can draw a less than professional drawing. And if an beginner spends enough time and works hard, they can come up with a great, professional looking drawing. It's hard to put your drawing in a catagory when you haven't even started it yet. Plus, I feel the same way as Quarter mile. I know I can draw well, but I wouldn't consider myself pro. So I guess I would fall under a beginner.

We could be placed by our recent work.

i am new here so put me in as a begginer tuner. i think ill make an ass ugly azteck atleast look better.

i guess we could do the idea of me deciding..but i dont want to make anybody feel bad...ill do it on a curve or somthing...i hope this works out, and if you have any ideas on what we could do better, post it!

I trust that you can do a good job judging. Some people might not agree with your decisions, but it shouldn't bother them. The whole point of this contest is to have fun and be creative. There is no prize money for the winner. It's just a good way to view everyone's work. That's all that matters. And like you said, you can grade on a curve. You can pick the best drawings and put them in the pro catagory. I can't think of a more fair solution than that.

I actually like the idea of having a judge decide who goes where.

And KustomAce, you idea is kind of flawed. You're saying that it is based on popularity. Well, what do people want to see when they vote? Skill, presentation, quality, design. So in fact popularity is actually based on everything that a pro does and a beginer won't see.

Just some ideas. But I would definately go with the judgemental decision for classing. You use your skill class (say beginer) for all of the next comps as well. This is your chance to show you're worthy. BUT if you improve over the next little while, between competitions, a judge will also be used to say if you should be promoted or not. How 'bout that?

thats sounds like a pretty good idea...i definatly like the idea of Zcaithaca deciding for this comp....and having a third class wouldn't help anybody, it would just make the problem (too few people in some classes) much worse..

yeah. i also think zcaithica should decide. we dont (or i dont at least) care where you put us. put me in the worst for all i care, i prolly deserve to be there anyways

Same question. i finished the aztech and it looks like a van with a body kit and 40 inch rims. I dont think that i will enter the aztech i am doing a rsx now.
