okay back on the V6 - I-6 topic, one person says the v-6 produces low end torque and someone else says the I-6 produces low end torque, does it truly matter weather it's a v6 or I-6 at all? or is it based on the bore and stroke? wouldn't torque closer to the end of the power band be more desireable, considering you don't use low end during accleration? Bmw I-6's produce peak torque around 5k, woudln't that be more useable in a race? just my thoughts, and how would a boxer 6 do in terms of low end torque? would that be the ultimate low end torque producer?

its more based on bore and stroke than v6 or i6 and yes more torque later = more hp
if you have 2 engines that make the same torque but one makes it 2000 rpm later that engine will always have more HP. that is what bmw did with their engines to increase peak hp without forced induction and thats how their m3 makes more hp/liter than an s2000. something most honduh owners dont knkow :)
treat a boxer engine as a vee engine that has a 180 degree angle, as opposed to 60 or so degrees that a normal vee engine has and that can fit in a smaller(flatter) space than other engines
hence the handling abilities of porsches, most notably the 914/6

yea, i was considering on getting an r32 skyline when i'm finished school because it's beautiful I-6, i'm in canada so it's legal. Butttt i'm pretty contempt on going the BMW route, i've been checking alot of bmw dyno sheets and i see the high end torque and hp at that, but i'm not too sure on durability of their engine under forced induction conditions. I kno their quality, but who knos?!?!?! I kno the skyline engine can take a pummling, but i think more people would respect a turbo Bmw over a the RB which was created for the sole purpose of forced induction.

By stating that us (USA 240 drivers) have never seen SR in 240, you are making yourself a target practice for flaming!

I have SR20DET blktop IT CAME with the T25 I SWAPED to the T28 BB from a S15!

No S13 blktop came with the T28 or the T28 bb.

BTW you most likely saw a blktop S14 swapped in a S13…

christ naruto i live in MINNESOTA and there are sr20dets in 240s EVERYWHERE since like last year late 2003 all the honda and acura boys started buying the shit out of 240s and not one (besides me) still has a KA24 in thiers (that i know of)

and yes please do your research before talking about facts especially when you can click on the intro topics at the top of the list to learn every thing about 240s and sr20s and ka24s ect. that is even being discussed here.

when i talk about doing something to a car, i just tunnel out what everyone else thinks and does. i would never swap an SR because everyone else is, i just look at what my obejctive is and how im going to get there. Never follow a trend, do what you want and want helps you best in the situation...

Example.....
Everyone around here swaps in SRs and then has to bribe the DEQ, that doesnt benifit me at all cuz over time i could just save the bribe money cuz of the gay emissions here and have a nice built KA-t. If i was in florida though, swapping an SR might be easier and then i might have a different opinion for it....

Actually it seems like the SR20 trend is going out. I think plain jane V8s are becoming popular again.

you gotta respect em, at least the people who drive them and arent total dic*'s about others driving lower displacement vehicles. At least that how it is for the select few here that are only like muscle and say you cant be quick unless you have a V8...

A) Cry About it. Every car has a Ricer Pack Im not gonna quit liking a kickass car just because some yahoo put some neon on one Especially when it makes good parts more availible.


B) Yeah seeing as how they kidnapped every 240 on the planet to do FWD swaps and then add 1000lbs.


C) Those Rice Kids swap the SR because they have been told its better than the KA. I can understand how this happens. Ive seen so many people on this board preach something they read in a magazine then when they find out they're wrong they act like they knew it the whole time (I know I have).

D) My Point is quit bitching about trends. They'll always be around no matter what you drive. You act like your above them so either paint you car pink with "Im more 1337 dandy than you" written on the side(who knows you might start the next trend -gaysozuko!) or get off your soapbox

actually...If we really dont want people to know about the KA...everytime a Which engine is the best should come up instead of flaming them...Just point to the SR and RBs and CA. I mean if they are this dumb dont let them know the awesome potential of the KA i mean theres some stuff that some people shouldnt be priveledge enought o use....like in the 1st couple months of "BT" iw as like alright then all these dang stupid kids start using "BT" and think theyre all cool...really pissed me off.

to be honest, i don't like the ka only cause my plans don't have anything to do with the sr. the sr is a good motor, but as far as i know, it has the reputation of blowing up.. its not like it blows up all the time but that suggests potential problems with the majority of srs.. i like the ka cause i have a stocker and i know what i'm starting with.. if i have ONE SINGLE CYLINDER below 170 psi then i'm buying a new ka.. there are other prerequisites i have for turbo i'm trying to be as meticulous as possible so that i have reliability in my engine.. another main reason i'm not buying an sr is cause of a guy i know.. he's always loved 240s.. he had one for a week or so but sold it. never told me why., he's an odd kid (6'3" 270lbs guy born in the philipeans (don't have the slightest clue how to spell it but i gave it a shot) and he now drives a 2002 sentra se-r spec-v, very nice car i must say. he's got it completely stock with emblems taken off.. looks good like it is.. he's doing suspension in the spring and exhaust over the summer.. he's like me with the long term plans.. i plan to be boosting at 5 by september, especially if i go out west for may/june

i havent gotten mine yet, but as soon as my corvette sells, i am going to build a 96/97 240 with the rb26dett, upgraded turbos etc. shooting for 500 rwhp, got the engine builder/installer on standby, found my widebody kit, got the body shop on standby, and i am going to add some cobra racing seats, etc... i cant f'ing wait to sell the vette, anyone know anyone interested in a mostly restored 69 stingray???????

The 2jz because of the fact that i own a toyota corolla and love toyotas now, superchargers are fun on a 1zz engine...
