If I had unlimited funds and I wanted the worlds most powerfull 240SX I'd have a 1300 BHP VG30DETT. This old F1 pylon racer plane (like F1 for cars but for airplanes, lots of tight turns) called the Ponds Racer was powered by two 3.0L Nissan engines, one in each wing. The plane looked a lot like the old Lockheed P-38 'Lightening' but way smaller...Coolest plane ever. Anyway, each of the engines made 1300 BHP. I never got to look at them with the cowling off but they said it was the same block as the 300ZX which means VG30! Too bad about the plane though. It seems the twin boom tail used on the P-38 and the Ponds Racer is great for tight manuvering as well as high speed but it isn't very forgiving on the pilot, who not too far into the otherwise promising life of the Ponds, crashed into the ground at almost 600 mph.

A VQ35DETT would be cool too but I don't think it has the same potential as its old V6 cousin.

For now, I'm limited to mods of a few hundred at a time which means save for a swap, save for a turbo kit, or just do NA mods from time to time. The KA is certainly a better choice than th SR20DET swap though. Intake, cams, header, exhaust, and EFI tuning should make a KA more powerful than the 205 BHP SR20DET for less money too. Ofcourse, your tuning is as important as your parts when it comes to power.

as for my choice i think AWD is the tie-breaker between two engines that can take 500+ hp with no internal strengthening mods...

i would simply keep the ka and put on the enjuku racing turbo kit, which is what i am getting for mine. go look it up... it puts 398 hp to the rear wheels. granted, going fast in a straight line is fun, but isnt going fast around corners better? get a ka-t and itll solve all your problems including the ones you would have if you put a twin turbo skyline engine in there... WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION mother f*cker! lol. think tho if you have a giant motor up front, you wont be able to handle at all. i can see it now, going fast as hell then you hit a corner and you cant slow down or turn quite as well as you'd need...

i dont think were talking about putting this hypothetical engine in a 240 necessarily but even so i would like to see how a 2jz swap is easier than an RB AWD swap into a 240...maybe a little but were talking hypothetical here anyways so my money stays in nissan's pocket for now

Holy cow a 2JZ in a 240SX? 2JZ over RB26 AWD swap Would be easier just because no AWD aspect. If you want to put a Toyota Engine in a 240SX thats kinda gay....RB25 would prob be cheaper.

If i had a CNC machine i could draft(draw for those who dont know) out an engine...same bore and same stroke and everything as another Straight-6 and make a Straight-8 now there was a Straight-8 produced but everytime they tryed they couldnt get it to be stable at 3000+RPMs it would just shake the mounts to sand...so I would love to have a TT Straight-8 just because it rhymes...and the Torque would be ungodly

yes there is the black top sr20s come with the t28 turbo and they are in s15s

and the red top comes with t25s

I've heard them called Japanese muscle cars before. I really like the V6's actually. I think it's a nice medium between 4 cylinders and V8's.

The sr20det is so overrated its stupid..things like "displacement" and "turbos" dont even exist in front of the "jdm tightness".I wish that fast and the furious flick never existed.

I agree with alexious, fast and furious should have never been created. it took away the true sports car enthusist and replace it with media and horse power adding stickers. Honestly unless ur car is sponsored and truly stand out... don't even bother with the stickers... that pisses me off the most about these media followers

oh yea ... and yes the sr20det is over rated now. but where else can you find a small displacement high revving, chain timing engine where you don't need internals to make 400hp? that you can put in a rwd car that handles good?

not sure about internals, but ca18det is also a good choice next to the sr20det, also pretty much half price

V6 engines are more stable at high piston speeds because the two banks of pistons tend to counterbalance each other better than a straight six
you will see very few i-6 motors rev high (RB series being one exception because of its relatively short stroke lowers piston speeds and because it is very well built motor, and the 2jz doesnt rev all that high but it is bulletproof)

most v6 motors dont rev high because they are put into sedans and such so the stroke is elongated to provide the low-end torque

i know it was a while ago but naruto, you seem to be an idiot if you like the sr over an rb.. let alone a vq or vg..

and basically the only difference b/w the i-6 and v-6 is that the i-6 torque peaks at a lower rpm.. and even if they put out about the same amount of tq and hp, you'll probably get to 60mph quicker with an i-6.. maybe i'm wrong but that seems like common sense to me..
