You are correct Kimmo these wheels were used on mixed surfaces but I think they are generally considered tarmac wheels.

Does anyone have a good photo of the tread pattern of a Dunlop tarmac tire? I know they used multiple different tread patterns and even slicks (no tread pattern) when allowed. I am looking for something with very little pattern that was most common.

I agree, they were more likely to use a gravel rim on tarmac than the tarmac rim on the dirt. Very rarely do you see a period photo of the cars with the tarmac wheels on dirt. They may do so today, but not back in the '70s and '80's.

AFX,

Do you have this book?
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51WACicDsbL.jpg

If you do, take a look of page 188, there is a pic where may be the tires you are looking?
same book has a nice pic of Pirelli tarmac tires, page 7

Hre is a link if you want to buy the book

I do have that book but I need an internet image to send to the CAD designer. I am going with this tread pattern. The pattern was developed for rally cars in the 1970s

http://www.reifenschlag.de/images/Reifen/MichelinTB15profil.gif

Although it is a Michelin pattern and I know the works team raced on Dunlops and later Pirellis it looks a lot like this period photo.

The way the kit is designed you mount the engine to the cross member then install this assembly in the chassis. I like to repeatedly test fit everything so that method does not work for me. I came up with a way to mount the engine without the cross member in place.

Looks bad with the engine out but is completely hidden when the engine is installed.

The roll cage in the Belkits' MkI shows an angled bar beside each door. I haven't been able to confirm if the MkII had these door bars - does anyone know?

The Belkits also shows a diagonal bar behind the main roll hoop - not sure this is correct for the MkI or the MkII.

Just noticed that the exhaust manifold is sitting too low on the block, rather than it being on the cylinder head.

You have attached it to where the core plugs are situated, other than that, the model so far is amazing :).

Thank you for your interest.

The exhaust ports are on the very bottom of the cylinder head. Yes my header should be attached just slightly higher. However that would have necessitated making a custom built header. I'm pretty happy with the kit part header so I chose to make a small compromise.

We did a low resolution printing of the Minilite wheel/tire so we could check the size. We will make the final tire 0.2 mm taller than what is shown here. Once I have the final version of the wheels and tires I will adjust the cars stance. The front end is a little too high in these pictures.
