The headlight/turn signal assemblies are done (except for the wiring that will come out of the stems).
I changed the interior color of the housing from bright silver to a flat pewter/steel tone. The turn signals also have bulbs in them now.
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e272/Superb7/Another%20Caterham/DSC03356_zpsa102d313.jpg (http://s41.photobucket.com/user/Superb7/media/Another%20Caterham/DSC03356_zpsa102d313.jpg.html)
The stems mount to brass receivers installed to the frame. On the “real car” they are removable by pulling out one bolt and unplugging them for track time.

The notches I cut into the nose piece for the mounting receivers make for a nice positive locking fit for the nose.

Thank you!
I won't be making copies of it, but I will be able to offer wheels and tires and a few other sub-assemblies if others were interested.
To make copies would require making most of the one-of fabricated parts again.
If I had planned to offer copies I would have had to construct it much differently and with forethought to making it as a kit. But that would have made the project much more complicated than it needs to be, and less detailed than I want it to be. It is just something for my entertainment.

Scalemaster, you should figure out the proper length, subtract one cog from the belt length and make a mold so that you can cast it from your tire resin.

That is an option, but I have had good luck with this process.
I made the pulleys for the “fan belt”. It turns only the water pump and alternator off the crank.

This is the battery, an Odyssey PC680. I milled the top from resin stock and built the bottom from sheet styrene. The terminals are brass and vinyl. I drew and printed the decals as well.

The alternator is pretty much done. I’ll add a couple more pieces of mounting hardware and wiring after it is installed on the engine. Since it sits down low, like the starter, I dirtied it up a little. It is made up of more than 30 pieces, mostly aluminum, but also milled resin, steel, brass and styrene.

Also attached to the oil pan was the remote oil filter, some of the oil lines have been hooked up.

Absolutely amazing build...I have been captivated by your skills throughout this project!
A question for you please regarding the milled fins on the rockers covers, ignition box etc? Do you use very small diameter end mills, or slitting saws. I've been trying to do likewise for ages, but without any decent success!
The smallest end mills I can find are 1mm, which are too wide, even for most 1/12th builds.

Thanks guys!
I used end mills for both of those parts John. The ignition box fins were cut with a 1/32 end mill; working in resin it wasn't a problem.
The cam cover fins were cut with a 1/4 inch end mill. Since it is a stepped design, almost any size end mill could be used. But the pockets for the mounting bolts were done with a 1/16 inch end mill.
