The foot wells are built. I was able to attach the passenger side to the transmission tunnel and still be able to snap it in and out of the frame easily.

The driver’s side was a bit more work due to the provisions for the master cylinders and room for the pedals. It “loads” from the top and locks into part of the framework on the bottom of the car.

Stunning work as always. Not only am I always amazed by the quality of your work- but I am astounded at how productive you seem to be with it!

I like the hose clamp decals.

I might have been tempted to machine (cast?) those reservoir tanks in clear, and then given them a heavy spray of clear flat- to try to give them that translucent/hollow look of blow-molded plastic.

Thanks!
The last one I built I used white Delrin for the plastic reservoirs and catch tanks, but I am out of that material. I thought the raw white resin might work in this case because the real parts are not really translucent to the point of being able to being seen through, but these look less like raw plastic and more like paint. Maybe some Dullcote can help. At least the ones I am copying are more opaque than the older ones...

I again outgrew the box I have been using to house the parts as I make them, so I decided to do a little inventorying before repacking them. Here is the sum of all parts that I have made for this project over the course of almost exactly one year and three months.
Most are just in primer, much like kit parts waiting to be finished and assembled. A few are painted and even less of them are finished sub-assemblies. I wonder if I’m halfway? Not that it matters…

Thank you guys, that is very nice of you to say.

The gauges are assembled and installed into the dash. Each gauge is made up of six pieces plus a decal.

Speedo and Tach are the large ones, a small Vacuum gauge is positioned between them.
The Water temp and Oil press gauges are mechanical units, the Volts and Fuel level are electrical. Looks like the lenses mess with the focus on a couple of them…

I finally decided on a personalized license plate. Like my last two Sevens, the plate will have raised “stamped” characters. I already put a coat of primer on the face.

But in addition to raised characters, I decided to make the backside detailed too and made the characters in reverse and depressed. Shown here in the raw brass.

Nothing to say.... speechless.... only one question: what did you use to make the texture on the dash?

The dash texture was done by lightly spraying a few dry coats of two-part urethane. Once cured, the color was applied. And thanks!

The horn button and mounting hardware (in the bag) were also machined from aluminum.
The three bolts are scaled down versions of 9/32 heads with 5/16 diameter washers. I’ve started to texture the grip of the wheel; I’ll sand the texture off of the spokes later.

Signal lever??

On a 7??!!

Wow, man, that's high class. I remember having to get used to the toggle switch for the turn signals on the Caterham I drove. If I ever build a full scale one, I want a piece of CF to cut to shape for paddles behind the wheel like gear shifters- so I can use them to turn on/off the turn signals.

That steering wheel is gorgeous. And I love the needles on the instruments. Easy to imagine them twitching as the engine comes to life.

Fake paddles; what a great idea!

Originally I had thought about making the grip in suede, but with the suede versions they bond the material to the wheel, they aren’t not sewn. I wanted to add stitching too, so I went with the standard leather wrap.
