This, if no moderators mind, is an incriminating thread. Let's all hear about you guys trying to find out how fast your car goes. I know you all tried it. Somehow I managed to get my bone stock Integra LS, (just an intake), up to 130 on the dot trying to chase down my friend's highly modded Accord. He still has the governor though. 123 haha. No lying now.

80mph in my Blazer... not governed... just wont pull any faster. Not bad for an old tired 350 pulling al 5200lbs along with turning 33" tires.
Nova... with current gear ratio.. and motor ... should probably do about 140-150max... go 3.08 gears!. At those speeds it becomes a brick through air and is limited aerodynamicaly... and where horsepower will decide how fast you go... hahaha. But with 3.73s like what I want... I'd say 140ish... Dont really care haha... It'll be fast enough for me and I dont plan to drive on the freeway much to want a 'highway battler'. :p

well, I've taken my 99 accord up to 110 on the highway SL is 65, I could have gone higher, but was enteing a city where the cops suck... I bet I could get it well over 130 with all stock.. and when I did the 110 it was all stock, that was just after I bought it..
the Truck which is a 00' 3500 custom GMC duelly with the 01' drivetrain, I've never taken that thing to the limit, fastest I've gone is 90 it gets kinda unstable at higher speeds..
the 98' subaru forester I've taken up to 95, and I'm pretty sure it'd go up to 120-130.

I think the limit I read in the manual is 123mph... but I said , or I think I said 130+ with stock... guess I was'nt thinking... I could always remove the governor though.. and if I was really into top speed I could replace the top gear with a 1:1 gear... I can't remember the stock gear ratios on my car..

Bosch premium wires and plugs

My car is still slow as fuck and would probably hit low 17's in the 1/4. Even with the swap I am madd limited by this Dual Point Fuel Injection shit.

159-160MPH - in my old (modified, N/A QUAD 4, 4-banger) Beretta GTZ, bouncing off the rev-limiter, while being paced by my roomie on his modified GSX-R.
155+/-MPH (approximation) - in my old 1990 Integra GS (modified, N/A b16a, 10,000RPM limit). Had my speedo pegged (145) trying to keep up (and did) with an old co-worker's modified Yamaha YZF. I basically stayed steady behind him until he started pulling when the laws of physics took over my car. He told me the next day that he only started to slowly walk away when his speedo registered 160MPH. For the non-believers, he never downshifted and stayed in sixth...that's why I kept up.
130MPH - in my last car, the Civic LX (stock motor, modifed with all the bolt-ons possible, with ignition goodies and aftermarket piston rings). This was up to redline in fourth gear. The speed governor kicked in at about 127 in fifth.
120MPH - so far in my current car, the SE-R (bone freakin' stock!). Speedo reads up to 150MPH, but I doubt if the car can go much over 130MPH. Not bad for a bone stock, 11-year-old "econocar" though.
Oh, and before I forget, I got a ride as a passenger in someone else's Ferrari TestaRossa. Took me up to 170MPH. I think. Might've been faster, but I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention to the speedo...I was being shocked, scared and mesmerized all at the same time by how fast cars (in other lanes) seemed to come up.

you do realize that at those speeds your spedometers arent too accurate right? You're not gonna get to much higher then what the car is governed at. Unless it has been ungoverned... Say like in my case my 92 lude is governed at what 138mph.... but hell i could see 145-150mph... one way to kinda know what your car is factory governed at is to check the speed rating of the oem tires..... oh and the highest i got mine was up to 125-130 and i believe i was only on 4.5-5 rpms.... but wasnt really looking at my speedometer if you know what i mean.

First off, I had a custom ECU running the b16...no governor and with a strong motor that pulled all the way to the 10,000RPM redline. Second, I know how inaccurate Honda analog speedos are when you get to speeds that they were never meant to be driven in. This is why I based my speed claims on that one on the speed my friend's bike was travelling at. His speedo on that bike went up to 180MPH, I believe.
Same thing with the Beretta. I would never make a top-speed claim if I had no way verifying the speed I was at. The GTZ's speedo reads only to 130MPH.
Lastly, with the Civic, I pulled an I/E 2000 Civic Si on the freeway top-end. Most people, including magazine testers know that the Si stock tops out at about 130. After I pulled on him, about 2 cars, we stayed in exactly the same spot, with me bouncing-off my limiter in fourth. I know I couldn't have done that in fifth. Fifth was just basically a gas-saver gear for that car, since it went faster in fourth due to the governor in fifth.
As for the Ferrari T/R, inaccurate or not, the speeds we were going was...the opposite of slow:D.

my Honda Accord that Loesch was talkin' about only gets up to 120 'cause of the governor. It has big ol' 17's on it and is stripped of about 150lbs. It still feels like it has a lot of pull left but when I hit the governor I get freaked out when it kicks on because it's not a little let off the gas feeling. It feels like the car is saying "yo slow this fucking car down"

150+ Mph (240+ Kph), and that was when 4th gear kicked in! Yup, thats right - blew me away too when I found out last summer. I was on the 401 west from T.O heading to London, Ontario and I wanted to finally run out 3rd gear in my Camaro (4-speed auto with stock 2.93 gears). So I hammered it at about 120 Kph, rev'd 2nd gear up to 6000 RPM then 3rd gear screached in at 140 Kph (approx. 85 Mph). Well damned if 3rd gear didn't go from 140 Kph right up to 240 Kph! - hello 4th - and we're still going. After about 7-8 seconds of acceleration with the needle in no mans land I backed off (but the car had been still been pulling and had a LOT of RPM to go before 6000 - someday I'll see how high it can go).

127 on nice open I-55 south to Normal, IL. It was me and a 01ish Benz S500 cruisin. He showed me who was boss in the end though. Before he exited, he opened up and took his all the way to the 155 limit!!!:sunglasse Me and my friend (riding shotgun) could only watch as he pulled away. I shed a tear of respect and went on my merry way.
This was before I slapped those heavy ass Motegi 18's on my car though. I could probably hit 123 or so with them on. They are heavy as hell and kill my gas mileage, but DAMN do they look good on my car! (If I may say so myself)

I know. I just have a little fun raggin on American V6s. They just don't ever seem to be able to pull all the performance out of those engines. Even after supercharging (as GM LOVES to do) they don't use all the engine's potential. I'm not saying they are all slow cuz a 4 cylinder accord isn't exactly a speed demon itself, but there's so much unused potential in the Grand Am's Grand Prixs, Malibus, Taurus's, Intrepid's, etc.
Its about time they supercharged the Grand Am tho. Its been such a whipping boy for the past decade. I hate those new Pontiac G Prix commercials though, where the guy is using the button shifting on the steering wheel and when he shifts UP the rpms go UP too!?!:eek7: Maybe people who don't pay much attention to cars (or commercials) wouldn't catch that, but I saw it and was like WTF!
I know...too much time on my hands.:loser:
watch out accord some of the pontiacs can pull all right i know there is a supercharged virsion my cousin has one it has pretty good power but his is not the supercharged one
its the v6

I don't know much about these new generation (like 4th or 5th gen) Pontiacs. Does it have some sort of "Sport" mode that would cause it do do that, or it just reds on its own?
