Well "free" if somebody gave you the car.

"Interference" well only if you did'nt make you're payments!

What I think he is talking about is if the valves go past the piston's top dead center during intake and exhaust. Also know as an interference engine. In other words if the timing belt snapped would it bend the valves or not.

On all vg series engines, a timing belt snap is well hell....just about everything gets farked up....i had the belt snap on my old 1990 pathfinder (vg30e), thankfully it was under the 10 year 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warentee my parents had wisely opted for, and it didnt cost us a time, but the shop manager looked like he was going to cry when we had it towed in :smoker2:

THE 300zx

The 300zx (z32) VG series motors are INTERFERNCE motors that means if the timing belt snaps, jumps a few teeth, etc... that the pistons hit the valves, and it will gnereally do a few things those being bending the valves, breaking the valves, cracking the valves, messing up the heads, etc... so make sure that if you get one that the person has done a 60k maintance on it (water pump, seals, belt, hoses, etc...) if not make sure you do it because the motors are failry expensive (new ones at checkers are 2300, used ones are ~1300 plus shipping)

questions post em and i'll answer them

hey guys

sorry for this late reply. my friend answered my question that same day when i 1st posted. i was curious for this cuz my other friend was gonna buy this and the owner said that he replaced the timing belt. from there, i was curious if there a slight chance of engine damage.

anyway, i apologize for the lateness and i thank you guys for your replies.
