Just got a 94 Accord - has a few problems
I have a 94 Accord EX 2.2 SOHC 4 cyl. It is in basically good condition, but there are a few issues. When I start the car, after about 10 seconds the temp gauge rises to full hot. I am pretty sure that means a bad sensor, but how can I test this and is there a how to on the boards on replacing it? Also, does a bad one stop the cooling fan from operating properly? I also was told I have a bad manifold gasket - how much of a problem is this and what problems harm can it cause to drive it for awhile with a bad gasket? Is it an expensive repair at the average shop or is it an easy repair(I'm not real techy, but I can do most things with a little instruction). One other thing, what plugs and wires are best for this car?

Re: Just got a 94 Accord - has a few problems
I am sure you have a bad sensor, or some kind of short because there is really no way an engine can come to full temp in 10 seconds. As far as the manifold gasket, I would get it fixed or take the plunge and try it yourself. You will more than likely surprise yourself!! I have always used stock wires, and plugs no need to buy anything fancy. Good luck my friend!
