WIP: Ferrari 575GTC, 1/24 60th aniv. AF build
Here is mine contribution to this AF project.
Since all of you probably saw that masterpiece from Mr. Prini I can only say that you can not expect me to match that ![]() First of all I would like to thank Mr. Prini for his detail building progress because it has and will help me a lot in the process. Let's start, I will not bother with review because Robi did that job just fine. Body cleaned from flash, found one bubble on side skirt, drilled it and filled with piece of sprue, then puttied with Squadron green putty (great stuff). ![]() ![]() ![]() Wheels are perfect just as they are so not much work here, some dremel and fine iron brush and they are done, I will paint them with alclad later. Tyres are sanded on 320 grit paper ![]() ![]() ![]() Head lights housings drilled and will be finished with some clear lens ![]() ![]() Central console had some broken switches so I removed them all, drilled the holes and put some SRC washers as bases, this all will be covered with CF later on. washers are just for shape. ![]() ![]() ![]() I soldiered roll cage and I am just in the middle of putting reinforcements but I discovered that I soldiered them in wrong position so I have to redo now. ![]() Anyhow, this kit is great, but instructions are like you don't have them, so before you start get a lot of reference pictures. Great works so far Sasa! The console looks really detailed! And you're fast! What's the livery on your 575GTC? Is it the same as Mr. Prini's? I'll add your link to the entries list immediately.

What make/brand is that kit? (for those who haven't followed the other build)
Very nice progress.

Re: WIP: Ferrari 575GTC, 1/24 60th aniv. AF build
Time for a little update.
I cleaned all of the moulded wires inside the interior to replace them with real wire. The one on the drivers side is not removed since it will be barely visible. ![]() ![]() I also made one test wire using three thin wires to cross them in one. It will be more then good. ![]() I then started to prepare central console since it looks a bit different on the pictures I have, Squadron green putty is used. ![]() ![]() I also scratch built side protection box on driver side from thin styrene sheet. ![]() ![]() Same material is used for an extra reinforcement on the roof that will be visible and Tecnomodel didn't include it in kit, kit part is used as marker for the holes. ![]() ![]() electronic box that is visible on the reference material was also built from same stiren sheet. ![]() I decided to put rear view mirror on the roll cage since that is how it is fixed on the real thing (instruction suggest to put it on the body. ![]() Test fit of the chassis with Tamiya white primer on most of the parts (don't forget to wash all the resin parts with Nitro thinner). ![]() Body was cleaned, washed in Nitro thinner and lightly sanded before I added few Tamiya white primer coats. ![]() More to come...I hope you like it. |
