Dash lights
Is it possible to change the dash lights in a 89 firebird because i plan on painting it and dont want that orange anymore. Also can someone direct me to where the power steering fluid is located because the wheel is feeling a little sluggish.

Re: Dash lights
The power steering fluid is checked at the power steering pump. It is driven by a belt and there is a cap on it you twist off.
I suggest you get yourself an owners manual off ebay or a restoration shop. I don't know if you can change the color of the dash lights.

Re: Dash lights
yes you can, but to change those lights youre gonna have to remove the whole dash..they;re little tiny colored bulbs or white bulbs with a cap. find a color you want and then have fun..not ALL the bulbs need to be replaced. since some of them are for turn signals, CEL's, etc..and those are bette rleft alone.

Re: Dash lights
I just replaced mine with HID colored LEDs (bright white with just a hint of a bluish tint. about like 5500K HID) from V-Leds Ebay store. 1.99 for 2, needed 11. Must say its a LOT nicer color now. I really diddnt like the incandescant yellowish white from normal bulbs, and colored glass bulbs diddnt put out much light. But these LEDs... WOW! Ill try to get some pics tonight and post them.

Re: Dash lights
posT! please..i wanna see how white looks. i have red bulbs in mine right now.. (Stock was yellow).
its actually really easy on a electronic dash.. it pops off in about 3 screws, you just have to remember to pull the plastic cover off before you pul everything off. the face needs to come off first!

Re: Dash lights
These were taken with my cell phone so they arent the greatest. my phone seems to have issues with taking pictures in the dark. All the numbers and hash marks are plainly visible when sitting in the car, they just dont seem to want to show up here.... I painted the back of the cluster cover gloss white as GM painted it baby blue to offset the incandescant yellowing we would have had otherwise.
