Gauges at 0, no start occationally
2002 Chevrolet Malibu, about a month ago it wouldn't start. None of the gages read anything with key in On position, 0 mph, E on fuel, 0 rpm etc. and there were no lights on the display (like the air bag or buckle ur seat belt light) the radio, and dome light worked fine. The engine would start, but then die half a second later. I replaced the Ignition Module which seemed to help for about 2 weeks. Now the same problem happens occationally. If i leave the car alone for a few hours, it'll start up just fine.
Today while driving i herd a click and all the gauges dropped to zero and cruise control stopped working, 10 min later they all came back up and Cruise control worked again. This seems like an electrical problem. I checked all the fuses they're fine. I also know about the Theft System problem and i've expereienced the blinking theft light. My theft light comes on and stays on a lot of the time now. Is this related to that problem? Milage is 60,000, if that helps. Please help. |

Seems like an electrical problem - maybe a fusible link?

Re: Gauges at 0, no start occationally
Yeah i checked all the fuses, they all checked out ok. I just purchased the TSB's for my car and one of them said
"Subject: Inspection of All Related Wiring Harness Connections When Diagnosing Miscellaneous DTC's, Intermittent Driveability Concerns, Hard Start, No Start, Incorrect Gauges, Inoperative Air Conditioning Systems, Service Engine Soon Lamps Illuminated, 4WD Lamp Illuminated, Instrument Panel Gauges Inoperative, Cruise Inoperative" The answer was to unplug and plug back in all the electrical connections, so i'm gona try that tomm. but i'ms till really confused as to how that is going to fix this prob. and i really want to get it fixed this week so please if anyone has any advice i'd really appriciate it. |
