Australian Budweiser Mustang

This is the 2001 Prancing Horse Racing (PHR) Mustang Cobra Mustang. Built and prepared for John Bowe in the Australian Performance Production Car series.

This is the 99 Revel Mustang. It has been converted to right hand drive, the body has been made out of plastic strips. I made the decals on my ALPS printer

Re: Australian Budweiser Mustang

Neat car. I do have a question though. Obviously, being from the USA, I'm not familiar with many of the Australian racing series. I am familiar with Mustangs though. I see that the car has the 2000 Cobra R spoiler and a nice replica 00R front splitter. It also looks like the color is very close to the Performance Red (sort of an origish red) that the actual 00R Cobras were painted. Was that in fact a 00R Cobra adapted to right hand drive, or did it simply use some of the body parts from the 00R?

Re: Australian Budweiser Mustang

Thanks for all your comments.

OutaFocus they used some of the body parts off the 00 Cobra R. It was built up around the base V8 model (gt?) but it was called the cobra here in Australia to try and help the sales. This body wasn't officially on sale but could be purchased through the teams supplier.

Here's how it ran in 2001 with John Bowe

The car is still racing in the Australian GT series but with a heavily modified motor and a different rear wing
