Greetings,
I spent a couple hours installing a stainless steel grill on my 2003 Yukon today. Wanted to let you know how it went etc. First off, this is one of the PRECISION GRILLS, the one that you have to cut out the existing grill thing, NOT the overlay kind. It is actually their CLASSIC BILLET model. Installing these things are pretty straightforward but not for the mechanically challenged. It helps to have air tools to cut and shape etc. http://precisiongrilles.com/ ![]() ![]() Also, I didn;t trim the bottom lip as instructed, I left it sticking out [back]. I did trim the top and sides of the black plastic, then in 7 inches each side on the bottom to provide clearance for the mounting brackets. The nuts included in the packet were not correct, well, at least 2 were correct but 2 were not. Figuring that part out ate up 20 mins, then going to the hardware store to get the correct 10-24 nylock nuts ate up another 45 mins. So much for the 2 hour installation they claim it takes. I put loctite on the studs, used nylock nuts and trimmed the studs after installation was complete. Here are some photos of the finished install. I like it. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Bevl Hvn; 12-24-2004 at 02:50 PM. |
