Question Toyo Proxes 4 vs BFGoodrich Traction T/A V which is better

I am right now in a dilemma. I need new tires for my car since the Bridgestone Potenza RE950s that came with are too worn down for winter driving. There is a STS and ETD autoparts and tire store near me. The ETD can order BFGoodrich Traction T/A Vs for $135 which I heard great reviews about on www.tirerack.com and an article by Road & Track on there. However, the STS tire store has a stupendous deal of $104 for a Proxe 4 tire, which would save me over $100 if I buy four.

Now it all comes down to is if the BFGoodrich that much better than the Toyo, or perhaps it is the other way around. I would also like your opinion or first hand account on which tire has a better traction life.

In case you do not know the Subaru SVX is a sports coupe that has the suspension characteristics of the modern Legacy GT, in fact you can say it is its ancestor. Except it has a 6 cylinder motor that is a bit tourqier on the high end. So with the combination of AWD and H6 engine can wear down the treading of a tire, perhaps not as quickly as a Lamborghini or even 3000GT VR4 but you get the picture.

I have been studying tires for some time now for my new Corolla. Darned if I want those Goodyear Integrity's on. They are lousy in rain and just don't have the pinpoint control you need on the Massachusetts Turnpike, a notorious high speed highway. I've come down to the Goodrich Traction T/A tires as the ones to have. I've studied this a while, talked to folks in tire businesses, etc. All tires have flaws, the Goodrich's have fewer than any others.

I have toyo grand touring 800s(or thousands) and they have good traction in all weather. The BFGoodrichs are also very good. I am split between the two companies. But I voted toward Toyo because the Proxes have a nicer tread pattern to me. Please state your car info and driving conditions and your state etc. In order to give a more accurate answer we will need that info.

BF Goodrich Traction T/A H rating

I put these tires on my '05 Corolla about a thousand miles ago. Folks, these are the real deal. I read a lot on various websites, talked to people, etc. I went to tire stores.
The Traction H rated tires are by far the best tires I have ever driven on. They have a two ply sidewall that is wonderfully firm and allows cornering like a puma. The tread is aggressive, nicely so. The tires are not noisy, they are not silent. Noise is like the vast majority of tires, and these are well within tolerable limits. On a turnpike, you can feel the firmness, the sticking to the road. When you have to make a cut back into a lane, the tires are magnificent in sticking to the planned route.
I was skeptical at first, despite all sorts of websites and opinions. Now, however, I'm driving on fabulous tires. These tires are better'n Michelins, Toyos, and all the other hotshot stuff I've driven on.

Made by Michelin, named Goodrich, these tires are the cat's meow. Don't leave home without them.
