Angry 97 Ford Explorer - No Power

I have a 97 Ford Explorer Sport with 70, 000 miles on it. When the truck is in drive or reverse it has no power at all; I have to grind the accelerator into the floor to get it to accelerate(or maintain speed). I have had it looked at at a few shops as well as the Ford Dealership and no-one can tell me what's wrong with it. I've relaced : the fuel filter, air filter, plugs, plug wires, battery, fuel pump, MAF sensor, MAP sensor, both oxygen sensors, checked all fuses, the main computer, had the compression and codes checked. I unhooked the catalytic converter and drove it down the road which didn't help, just made it real loud. Guy at the dealership seems to think it's in the wiring, but doesn't want to work on it because it would be outrageously expensive(labor). Any ideas?

is it a 4.0L SOHC engine? Do you feel any engine vibrations while idle (in park, reverse, and drive)? Does the rpm goes up fast enough while vehicle is in park? Did you flush the injectors?

Gas pedal

My Explorer starts up just fine most of the time. The only thing with the gas pedal i've noticed is that it doesn't open the throttle 100% unless i literally grind it into the floor board, the throttle is really lose. My friend said that it was the spring in the throttle making it so loose. Occasionally my Ex won't start period however and I have to manually spray gas into the intake port holding the accelerator wide open to get it to start.

The engine is a 4.0 liter OHV. The truck shakes a little when in idle occasionally, and I have had the fuel injectors flushed. My engine is throwing a code saying I have high input through the Intake Air Temperature Sensor. A friend told me that sensor wouldn't cause the truck as unresponsive as it is, but I read earlier online that it might.

Re: 97 Ford Explorer - No Power

make sure the intake air temp sensor in not reading -40degrees or ~+300degrees. check your throttle position sensor and make sure it doesnt have any worn spots or dead spots. make sure it reads voltage throughout the throttle plate travel. at idle it should read 1.0-1.1 volts and at full throttle you should have ~5.0v. you said you have cleaned your injectors but make sure they are actually working.

The intake air temp sensor has been replaced and the TPS sensor has been checked at the dealership. Is there a way to check the fuel injectors to see if they are opperating correctly?

Re: 97 Ford Explorer - No Power

there is tool you can purchase on ebay. it is a box that pulses each injector a specific amount of times. you use this box with a fuel pressure gauge. you hook the box up to each injector and to the fuel pump. press the button and the box pulses the injectors ~6 times and you should see the pressure drop on the fuel gauge. each injector should have the same pressure drop. the injector/s with the least amount of pressure drop or no pressure drop at all are the bad ones.
